Argentina starlet Julian Alvarez could be on his way to Atletico Madrid this summer. According to the Spanish national daily Marca, Diego Simeone‘s side is keen to add more firepower to their attacking roster.
Alvarez, the 2022 World Cup winner, will join his Albiceleste teammates in Copa America warmups in the USA. Surely, it’s there in practice Argentina’s Atletico players, Rodrigo De Paul, Nahuel Molina, and Angel Correa, will try to recruit ‘el hombre araña, Spiderman.

Atletico Madrid expresses “great desire” in Alvarez’s transfer
Despite two Premier League titles and a Champions League, Alvarez rarely starts for the Citizens. He serves as Guardiola’s luxury sub, with 36 strikes and 18 assists for the Sky Blues over the last two seasons. Moving to La Liga, where he’s guaranteed more game time, presents a better offer for the 24-year-old.
Alvarez, whose contract expires at the end of the 2008 season, is valued at approximately $86 million—a hefty fee for Los Colchoneros. But Atletico is looking to offset the costs with the potential sale of out-of-favor Joao Felix, who went on loan to Barcelona last season, to Manchester United.
Some reports indicate that United and Atletico Madrid are discussing swapping Felix for the ever-controversial Mason Greenwood—how and if Alvarez is part of that equation is yet to be seen.
