This week the “Wayback Machine” transports the show back 26years to 1998. Titanic Still lingered at the box office but it was last year’s movie. In front of us was the Blockbuster Showdown of the Summer, and the most controversial Best Picture Showdown in ages. Most of that we ignore, because the guests on these week’s show have their own agenda’s.

Although they couldn’t make the show, both Matthew Simpson and Aaron Neuwirth influenced the conversation with the picks from 1998 that they sent in. There was a little bit of overlap occassionally but no one was bothered by that.

Dave Anderson had some personal favorites to toss into our collection of films, and Brian Eggert contributed some familiar but also very unfamiliar selections. As usual, the cinema of the far east was well represented by the suggestions from David Brook. If you listen, you will also hear some old man stories from the host.

It seems everyone fell out of love with Brian DePalma after 1998 and we all seem to be interested in low budget horror movies, $900 for one production that we are talking about 26 years later, seems like as low a budget as you can go without just using sock puppets on a YouTube Video.

There is lot’s to love, and to hate on our lists, with 28 different films covered on the episode, you get more than your monies worth.
