The schedule for the 2024 Men’s U23 European Championship (ECMU23) has been unveiled, marking the commencement of an exciting wheelchair basketball journey. Set to take place in Madrid, Spain, this June, the tournament will provide an opportunity for seven countries to compete for five spots in the 2025 World Championship for Men U23.
With the withdrawal of Portugal, the tournament format has been adjusted. The competition will begin with a round robin phase, where each team will play against all others once. Following this, the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, while the remaining teams (5th to 7th place) will engage in a secondary round-robin to determine the final qualifier for the 2025 U23 World Championship.
The schedule, based on the draw results, includes the following participating teams: Israel, Türkiye, Poland, Great Britain, Spain, Germany, and Italy.
The championship will tip-off on June 24, 2024, at the La Liga/NBA Academy facility in Villaviciosa de Odón, Madrid.
