Driving safely requires consistent attention and vigilance. When either is compromised, bad things can happen. Over the weekend, a crash involving Mustangs, Challengers, and other performance cars occured. Now, a new video shows part of the initial crash and reveals that another performance-car pile-up happened right behind the first.
The crash took place on I-285 in Atlanta, Georgia, and was notable for at least two reasons. First, witnesses from the scene claimed that the drivers were all racing. Second, every affected car appeared to be performance-oriented. It was basically what most of us expect to see when people drive this recklessly.

Those close to the crash when it happened also had recording devices that showed some of it. In one clip, we see the purple Toyota Supra as it approaches stopped traffic. It appears to stop in time, but almost immediately, a white Ford Mustang plows into the back of it. Amazingly, a Chevrolet Camaro manages to narrowly dodge the Ford just before the crash.
Sadly for the Supra, it lurches forward and hits a Dodge Challenger which then appears to hit a Mustang and the performance-car dominos begin to fall. According to one person who claims to have been there, “the white Mustang smacked the supra causing the pile-up.” They go on to say that ahead of that crash was another involving a black BMW and a black Ford Mustang. In addition, another pile-up happened behind this one.
Video of that shows a Mercedes, a Dodge Challenger, two BMWs, a Chevrolet Camaro, and a white Dodge Neon SRT-4 all involved and damaged. Of all the cars, only one, what appears to be a Honda Accord, is the lone non-performance car in the bunch.
Despite all of this, we can’t find a single reported serious injury which is by far the best news here. At the rate that insurance companies are totaling cars these days, we expect to see several of the ones involved here in salvage yards sooner or later.
