The Luxgen n7 is the #1 BEV in Taiwan for the 2nd month running.
The Taiwanese new car market slides down -2.4% year-on-year in May to 41,477 sales. This means the year-to-date tally is now off -0.8% to 190,916. Atop the brands ranking, both Toyota (+5.6%) and Mercedes (+18.5%) defy the negative market with solid upticks. Lexus on the contrary underperforms at -17% to 6% share vs. 6.6% so far this year. BMW (+16.1%) excels and gains four spots on last month to land at #4. MG (+62.4%) continues its spectacular progression, with Tesla (+39.1%) and CMC (+3.1%) also solid.
The Toyota Corolla Cross (-19.8%) remains by far the favourite model in Taiwan despite a steep year-on-year all. In fact Toyota monopolises the Top 4 with the Town Ace (+35.5%) at #2, the RAV4 (+54.1%) at #3 and the new Yaris Cross at #5. The MG HS (+23.9%) is up year-on-year but drops two ranks on April to #5. The new Luxgen n7 is once again the best-selling BEV in Taiwan at #7 overall, just above the Tesla Model Y (-17.2%) at #9.
