Ford recently revealed the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Carbon Series and Performance Package, plus we finally get a peek at the modern muscle car’s interior. In the photos provided by the Blue Oval, the Carbon Series and Performance Package is combined into one Mustang GTD, making it the ultimate pony car.
The Ford’s Carbon Series package is purely for aesthetics. It eliminates the paint from the GTD’s hood, roof, and rear deck to show off the carbon fiber weave underneath, giving it a more menacing appeal. The Carbon Series option can be added to any of the available factory colors, but the example shown features Ford’s new Chroma Flame hue. Customers can also elect to include matching or contrasting painted stripes, plus a choice between red, blue, or black painted brake calipers.
On to the functional addition, the GTD’s optional Performance Package, the same enhancement that Ford included on its proposed record-breaking GTD race car that is aiming for a record-breaking sub-seven-minute time around the Nürburgring by the end of 2024. The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Performance Package includes a larger front splitter, added front canards, a rear wing equipped with drag reduction mode, and underbody flaps. The Lightweight Package is automatically included with the Performance Package, which gives the GTD Mustang magnesium wheels, which are painted silver for the Performance Package, plus less sound deadening.
Ford also shared photos of the GTD’s interior, which weren’t included in the initial Mustang GTD reveal. The driver and passenger side is equipped with Recaro seats as standard. The new flat-bottom steering wheel is wrapped in Dinamica, an industry-leading microsuede, with leather and carbon fiber accents. Buttons on the steering wheel allow the driver to adjust suspension and exhaust settings, while 3D-printed titanium shift paddles magnify the bond between the driver and car. Displayed front and center is a 12.4-inch instrument screen with a new performance-oriented layout and 13.2-inch infotainment screen, both of which received updated graphics. The center console features buttons for accessing the Track Apps and front axle lift system.
No additional info regarding pricing was given on top of the standard starting MSRP of $325,000, which already has over 7,500 people grasping for a chance to own the GTD. Ford will open its applications up to European buyers at 1 p.m. on June 13th. Go to TheMustangGTD.com to apply.
