BMW has unveiled the redesigned 2025 BMW X3, which gets more aggressive styling that features a look that designed with the same design language as the smaller X1 and flagship XM.

The new X3 is now larger than before, since it’s length as increased by 1.3-inches, it’s 1.1-inches wider and sits 1.0-inch lower. At the front there’s a new take on BMW’s kidney grille, which features vertical and diagonal lines that will definitely make it stand out. Fortunately the M50 model gets a more subtle grille. The outline of the grille is illuminated on the M50 model, while it’s optional on the xDrive30 version. The M50 also stands out with a more aggressive front fascia with larger air intakes.
Inside there’s a large curved display that features the digital gauge cluster and a touchscreen that runs BMW’s latest software, BMW iDrive 9. The new system allows for more of the controls to be accessed via the touchscreen, which has allowed for a more simplified interior. The new system supports apps for video streaming, music from platforms like Spotify, podcasts, news, and in-car gaming. The new navigation system features 3D and satellite views.

Other new tech features include a new Traffic Jam Assistant that allows for hands-free driving below 40 mph on certain highways. You can also move it in and out of a tight parking spot, while you stand outside the X3, using the My BMW app.
The X3 gets a flat-bottom steering wheel, while the gear selector is now a similar system that we’ve seen in the X1 and X2 models, on the center console.

Under the hood, the X3 xDrive30 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that generates 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. BMW says that it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 130 mph. The X3 M50 is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that generates 393 hp and 428 lb-ft. It only needs 4.4 seconds to reach 60 mph. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which also houses the electric motor.
Sales of the 2025 BMW X3 will start in Q4 of this year. The pricing for the X3 xDrive30 starts at $50,675, while the X3 M50 is priced at $65,275.
