Hyundai has announced that it will reveal the newest addition to the Ioniq family, a larger three-row electric SUV. We don’t know the official name, since it was expected to be called the Ioniq 7, but now new rumors claim it will be named the Ioniq 9.
Hyundai previewed the larger electric SUV with the Hyundai Seven concept, that debuted at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show. This lead us to believe that it would be called the Ioniq 7, but now it might get the Ioniq 9 name to link it to the Kia EV9, which it is expected will share some DNA with.
We don’t have any specs yet for the new three-row electric SUV, but if it’s closely related to the EV9, we can expect similar numbers, like a range up to 304 miles.
Lastly Genesis is also working on a large electric SUV, called the GV90, which was previewed by the Genesis Neolun concept earlier this year. The Genesis EV is slated to arrive in 2026.
