Awayuki fully commits to her bit and she’s getting lots of views and subscribers, but things are shaken up when her “Mom” Irodori Mashiro, AKA Mashiron hops on as a guest. Mashiron is the artist responsible for designing Awayuki’s VTuber avatar, and together the two answer questions submitted through Marshmallow.
Mashiron gets Awayuki (AKA Shuwa-chan) to commit to one sober stream per week in order to rest her over-taxed liver. She also shows Awayuki a new avatar that better fits Shuwa-chan’s more casual, laid-back personality.
I’m glad for Mashiron’s suggestion, which Awayuki promises to seriously look into, because Awayuki really does need to take it easy with the 10% lemon booze. That said, the day she streams sober has to wait, as she meets with two fellow Live-On streamers (and her senpais) Utsuki Sei and Kannari Shion.
The two second-gens join their kohai (who is the same age as they are) at a yakiniku restaurant (owned by Sei’s fam) to discuss a future music video collab. That dinner turns into an impromptu karaoke session, where Awayuki and Sei’s duet plays over the end credits. Their sesh is also dotted with yuri flirtation that the audience eats up.
Does Awayuki have a drinking problem? I’d say so! But did she also once work at an exploitative company that was draining her very soul? Also yes. While she found solace in the VTubers of Live-On, she didn’t actually make a move to change her wretched existence until Live-On sent a callout for new recruits, and she somehow managed to make the cut.
As the stylized aesthetic shows, she was once an anonymous paper cut-out NPC, but now she shines as an awesome drunken digital lesbian snow princess. I suppose that’s work a some moderate liver damage!
