LeBron James was chosen by fellow U.S. Olympians to carry the flag at the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremonies, becoming the first male basketball player to receive this honor.
He follows Sue Bird and Dawn Staley as the third basketball player to be honored. This marks James’ fourth Olympics with Team USA.
“It’s an incredible honor to represent the United States on this global stage, especially in a moment that can bring the whole world together,” James said in a statement.
