With Yotsugi repaired and changed into less conspicuous clothes, she and Nadeko have a strategy session. The gist is that now that Nadeko has sealed Flirty and Wrath, there’s a high likelihood that if she summons them again they’ll be on her side against Meek and God.
The fact that she failed to get her shikigami to do her bidding the first time cannot discourage her from trying again; failure is the greatest teacher. To put it in shounen manga terms, it’s time for Nadeko to overcome her past self.
You could scarcely choose a more fitting venue for the final battle than the hulking Haruya Bookstore, the occult section of which Nadeko once ventured to look up how to lift her snake curse. Despite the parking lot being nearly full (of white Datsun roadsters, obviously), the store itself is deserted, presumably due to the effect of Meek Nadeko.
One think Nadeko can’t do is summon both of her Nadekos at once; the key to victory is facing off with one opponent at a time using one shikigami each. Yotsugi’s hand points upward to the second floor, but Nadeko spots Meek in a school swimsuit on the first, and decides to use Flirty Nadeko and her social skills to deal with her.
Just as Nadeko opens the paper, there’s an apparent earthquake and every bookshelf on the floor is toppled. Nadeko fears this is the end for her, but she’s saved by Flirty Nadeko in a feat of shikigami strength. As Yotsugi predicted, Flirty is in a much more friendly and cooperative mood.
Flirty is a big fan of Nadeko’s new outfit, and has her promise to draw her again someday, only even cuter than before. Nadeko slips out of the shelf, with collapses, crushing both the Flirty and Meek (i.e. School Swimsuit) Nadekos. Nadeko gave Flirty a pinky promise, but she was really giving one to herself.
On to the second level—again, fitting for a final dungeon—and the reunited Nadeko and Yotsugi encounter a surprise: 100 topless Meek Nadekos in bloomers. In addition to sacrificing the swimsuited Meek as a decoy a floor below, she also used a copy machine to mass-produce shikigami.
While this would seem to give God Nadeko the overwhelming numbers advantage, in reality the 100 shikigami are basically just milling around and reading, with little or no coordination, while actually issuing them all specific commands is impossible even for a god.
The 100 Bloomer Nadekos act as a wall for God Nadeko just as Flirty used classmates. But after ensuring Yotsugi has one (and only one) Unlimited Rulebook in her, Nadeko takes a hint from Flirty and decides she’ll modify Wrath Nadeko’s hair to make it short like hers before summoning her.
Yotsugi plows the proverbial road with her Unlimited Rulebook, blasting away the bookshelves and Bloomer copies and exposing the final boss: God Nadeko. But as she spins on one foot atop a giant pile of books (let’s table the collateral damage for now!) God doesn’t seem perturbed, declaring “Very much dead meat” and raring for the coming showdown.
