Conservative actors think twice before sharing MAGA-approved memes on social media.
It could come back to haunt them. It’s downright spooky to lose gigs in a highly competitive industry like Hollywood. It’s why so many right-leaning stars keep their views to themselves.
Not liberal celebrities. They can do or say almost anything without fear of retribution.
So when comic veteran David Koechner shared his ties to Monday’s Comics for Kamala fundraiser he probably expected a few “atta boys,” at best.

Monday’s event raised a reported $500,000 for the Harris/Waltz ticket. Koecher appeared alongside Mark Hamill, Nick Offerman, Ed Helms, D.L. Hughley and other funny faces.
The comments were surprisingly negative for several reasons.
One, Koechner didn’t say anything outrageous in his post. To his credit, “The Office” alum didn’t smear GOP voters or malign the Trump/Vance ticket. He just mentioned the fundraiser and his participation in it. Two, it’s assumed his followers are either sympathetic to him or appreciate his progressive brand.
Koechner has made no secret of his political leanings.
It’s also Kamalot Time, when the media is on a full-court press to promote her candidacy following President Joe Biden’s stunning withdrawal from the race. Journalists aren’t asking Harris any tough questions, in part, because she’s hiding from them (for now).
Yet the bulk of the comments went something like this:

To be fair, some commenters cheered Koechner on, but they were in the minority and less animated.
Hollywood stayed mostly quiet this year as President Biden showed increasing signs of mental decline. Now, with Harris announced as the Democratic standard bearer they’re rushing to show their support.
