Few cars in the world are real competitors to a car like the Honda S2000. The engineering that went into it is incredible, it’s highly reliable, and nothing truly like it is on sale today. Of course, those in the market for a new one could buy this example since it has just 745 miles (~1,200 km) on the odometer.
Up for sale in the States through Vistec R Imports of Stamford, Connecticut, this is a 1999 car from the Japanese market. As such, it comes with right-hand-drive and should produce around 250 horsepower (184 kW) and 153 lb-ft (208 Nm) of torque.

It sends that power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. This whole car weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,777 lbs (1,260 kg) too, so to say it’s tossable is an understatement. In fact, it’s the playful nature of the S2000 that makes it such a lovable car.
On top of the low mileage, excellent drivetrain, and stunning condition of this example, it’s also stock. That’s rare for any Japanese performance car from this era. There’s a lot to love about this little convertible but there’s one big bitter pill.
The seller wants no less than $120,000 for the pleasure of owning it. That’s brand new Porsche 911 Carrera money. That’s more than a brand-new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (if you can find a dealer willing to sell at or slightly above MSRP). In fact, it’s several thousand more than a brand-new Ariel Atom 4 which is for all intents and purposes a much more visceral, albeit less practical for everyday use, car.
In any case, the seller is asking that and might come close to getting it. Public sales data on Bring A Trailer suggests that super-low-mileage S2000s can go for over six figures. During the crazier pricing times spurred on by the pandemic one 2009 S2000 CR with under 200 miles went for $200,000. That’s a far more desirable car but since then, two other CR trims also crested over $120,000 and they had several thousand miles on each.
