“See it – while it’s still only fiction.” Oh damn, okay. Fathom Events has debuted a new trailer for a 25th Anniversary special event re-release screening of The Matrix in theaters nationwide this September. The seminal sci-fi classic made by The Wachowskis originally opened in theaters in 1999, in the spring earlier that year. It will play again on the big screen in September for two nights – on the 19th and 22nd. These showings also include a 10 min featurette: “Join Jessica Henwick (Bugs in The Matrix Resurrections) as she looks back, delving deep into the influential cyberthriller that thrust moviemaking into an astonishing new dimension; see never-before-seen personal reflections in an exclusive featurette looking back on the standout legacy of The Matrix.” Keanu Reeves stars as computer hacker Neo, who discovers the shocking truth–the life he knows is the elaborate deception of an evil cyber-intelligence running a complex computer simulation. It also stars Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, Joe Pantoliano. It goes without saying that this seminal sci-fi classic is always, always worth watching up on the big screen. // Continue Reading ›
