Vietnam July 2024: Mitsubishi Xforce best-seller

The Mitsubishi Xforce is the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam in July.

According to local carmaker association VAMA, the Vietnamese new vehicle market rises 17.1% year-on-year in July to 28,920, tilting the year-to-date tally into negative at +1.1% to 163,804. These figures climb to 33,967 (+18.3%) and 193,232 (-0.4%) when adding Hyundai which reports separately from VAMA.

Toyota (+69.9%) surges ahead to dominate the brands charts with 19.1% share vs. 14.9% so far this year. In 2nd place, Hyundai (+25.1%) also beats the market but drops one spot on June. Thaco-Kia (-16.4%) is in difficulty at #3 while Mitsubishi (+9%) and Ford (stable) can’t capitalise on the market growth. Honda (+50.7%) and Isuzu (+47.2%) shine.

Model-wise, the new Mitsubishi Xforce snaps the pole position for the first time, only three units above the Toyota Vios (+543.9%) catching up on a paltry year-ago result. The Mitsubishi Xpander (-42.3%) is in freefall but holds onto the YTD top spot. #1 last month, the Ford Ranger (+8.6%) falls to #4 ahead of the new Toyota Yaris Cross up two ranks to #5.
