Since the first movie burst onto the sci-fi horror scene in 1979, Alien has undergone multiple lore revisions and developments. These have ranged from more minor tweaks, such as the xenomorph’s appearance in Aliens, to expansive story changes, like David’s experiments in Alien: Covenant.
