A bright blue Lamborghini Huracan has been seized alongside jewelry and an expensive motorcycle from a man in Australia who has been claiming unemployment benefits since 2019 but has unexplained wealth.
The Italian supercar was seized from a property in Sydney in July, alongside a Harley-Davidson V-Rod, after the NSW State Crime Command’s Organized Crime Squad and the NSW Crime Commission opened an investigation into the man in May. The Harley Davidson was painted in the same shade of blue as the Lamborghini, known as Blu Cepheus. A pair of Rolex watches were also seized from the man.

Police have charged the 39-year-old with “dishonestly possess interfered with unique identifier,” which essentially means he was charged with dishonestly possessing the Huracan, V-Rod, and jewelry. Authorities believe his unexplained wealth comes from organized crime networks.
The value of goods taken from the man is worth more than $500,000 combined. He was issued a notice to appear in Parramatta Local Court on the 4th of October while police continue their investigations. It’s unclear how he had been able to collect unemployment benefits for more than five years and just how much money he received like this.
Acquiring expensive cars and jewelry through illegal means is a problem all around the world and one that can be difficult to crack down on. In 2021, a man in the U.S. illegally obtained $3.9 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans during the COVID-19 pandemic and spent $300,000 buying a Lamborghini Huracan.
