Damd’s Honda WR-V Reverb Is Inspired By The XJ Jeep Cherokee

  • The Damd WR-V Reverb makes Honda’s budget-friendly SUV look like a ’90s Jeep.
  • The model will debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, and likely end up in production.
  • Damd has also modified the Toyota Sienna, Honda N-Box, and Daihatsu Taft.

Japanese tuner Damd will be present at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon with four modified vehicles, including a Honda WR-V that looks like the XJ generation of the Jeep Cherokee.

The bodykit of the Damd WR-V Reverb features a completely redesigned nose. The six-slot grille and the rectangular headlights are clear references to the Cherokee, while the decals on the profile try to replicate the wood paneling of vintage American models.

Other unique body panels include the boxier hood and the new bumper that combines unpainted plastic with aluminum style accents. As a finishing touch, Damd added a set of black steelies shod in BF Goodrich mud-terrain tires, contributing to a rugged stance.

The Honda WR-V debuted in 2023 as the Japanese-spec version of the Indian-built Elevate. The small SUV shares its underpinnings with the City sedan, and is exclusively available in FWD form. Under the hood lies a non-electrified naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter i-VTEC that produces 119 hp (89 kW / 121 PS) and is mated to a CVT gearbox.

Besides the Jeep impersonator, Damd will also showcase three other models. The Sienta Stuart is based on the Toyota Sienta minivan, adding round headlights and a Mini-inspired grille, as a nod to classic cars from the UK.

Next up is the N-Box Custom Rodney, adding a sporty flair to the Honda N-Box Custom kei car. Damd’s input includes a redesigned grille and bumper intakes, side skirts, and bronze accents all around the bodywork.

Finally, the Taft Lucky is one of the numerous different versions of the Daihatsu Taft with a Damd bodykit. This one combines rectangular headlights and a more upright nose with a vintage color scheme and aftermarket alloy wheels. The goal was to look like a modern reinterpretation of the Daihatsu Rocky F300 off-roader from the ’90s, although the kei car proportions are more than evident.

The Taft Lucky is already available to order in Damd’s official website either as a complete vehicle or as conversion kit for existing owners. The other three concepts will likely follow the same path after their first public outing at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
