Even 7x Super Bowl champion admitted that LeBron James is a better athlete than him.
The NBA has seen many great players over the years, but they have hardly seen an athlete of LeBron James‘ caliber.
So much so that James has found himself being compared to athletes from different sports as well.
After all, at one point during his high school career, LBJ was an excellent NFL player too, and could have very well chosen football as a career.
NFL legend once admitted LeBron James is a better athlete than him
Over the span of his career, LBJ has established himself as a prime candidate for the GOAT status in the NBA. But could he have reached a similar stature if he played in the NFL?
Well, who better than 7x Super Bowl champion Tom Brady to answer the question.
“We’re similar athletes, LeBron and I. Both great size and speed. Jumping ability. Shooting. Not quite. No, he’s a much better athlete than me,” Brady said in 2019.
While the NBA and NFL are two different sports, there are a few overlapping skills that the King has in his arsenal.
For example, James’ incredible physique would have helped him become an amazing Tight End. But LBJ could have also gone a similar path as Brady, who played as a quarterback.
After all, James is a high-IQ player and would be a great leader for a team. Finally, he could have simply continued playing a Wide Receiver as he did during his high school days and focused on receiving the ball from a Brady-esque quarterback.

James continues to impress at 40 years old
There are more similarities between James’ and Brady’s careers than many may realize. Similar to Brady, James remains a top star even at 40 years old.
However, a key difference between the two is the number of championships in their respective sport. While Brady has seven Super Bowl Championships to his name, James has won four rings so far.
But hey, Brady did win the last two SBs of his career after turning 40, so maybe James has a similar fate in store for him.

LBJ is certainly capable of leading a team to an NBA title, as he proved in the LA Lakers‘ recent 114-106 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, where he finished the night with 38 points.
