The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N has been reimagined as a special edition in collaboration with Japanese drifter Keiichi Tsuchiya, famously known as the “Drift King”. The Ioniq 5 N DK Edition appeared in an official video teaser ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025.
The fully electric hot hatch boasts a range of modifications, supposedly aimed at enhancing its drifting performance. The bodykit includes a new front splitter with a carbon fiber finish, sharper side skirts, and a large swan-neck rear wing mounted on the roof.

The teaser footage reveals fender extensions with a dark glossy finish, contrasting against the matte white bodywork. The exterior accents are highlighted in green, matching the N Performance brake calipers. The DK Edition signature is prominently displayed on both the C-pillars and the tailgate.
Japanese racing driver Keiichi Tsuchiya also makes a cameo appearance in the video teaser, signaling his collaboration with the Hyundai N division.

Back in 2023, the company released a video of Keiichi Tsuchiya drifting the Ioniq 5 N on an Australian track. The Drift King described the Korean EV as “fun” and “playful”, adding that it changed its perception of Hyundai Motors.

Hyundai is keeping its cards closed about any performance or chassis modifications. The standard version of the Ioniq 5 N generates up to 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) from dual electric motors, allowing a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in 3.4 seconds. Electronic goodies include the N Torque Distribution with a drift function, which could be further enhanced in the DK Edition.
We will learn everything about the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N DK Edition at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 which opens its doors on January 10. Note that one year ago, Hyundai showed the Ioniq 5 N NPX1 concept at the same event, previewing a host of N Performance Parts. Hopefully, the special edition of the performance-focused EV won’t be exclusive to the Japanese market.
