Genesis has launched the G80 Black in Korea, joining a range of dark-themed models including the G90 sedan, as well as the GV80 and GV80 Coupe SUVs.
The exterior of the Genesis G80 Black predictably lives up to its name, featuring a striking all-black finish. All chrome elements, including the grille, intakes, emblems, and bumper inserts, have been meticulously blacked out. Even finer details, such as the inner bezels of the lighting units and the ADAS radar cover, have received the black treatment.

The vehicle sits on 20-inch glossy black alloy wheels, complete with floating center caps reminiscent of Rolls-Royce. The only deviation from the black theme is the dark gray Genesis lettering on the tailgate.
Inside, the commitment to black continues and is all-encompassing. The switchgear, paddle shifters, side sills, speakers, emblems, and high-quality quilted leather seats are all finished in black. The dashboard, center console, and door cards feature Black Ash Realwood inserts. Finally, the 27-inch digital cockpit, added to the G80 as part of the mid-lifecycle update, features exclusive welcome and goodbye animations.
The Genesis G80 Black is available in Korea with two gasoline powertrain options. The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generates 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS), while the more potent 3.5-liter turbo V6 is good for 375 hp (280 kW / 380 PS). In both cases, power is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Currently, there is no information on whether the Black edition treatment will extend to the fully electric G80 Electrified.
Sales of the Genesis G80 Black have already started in its home market in Korea, where it is priced from 82,750,000 KRW ($56,700). An Australian launch has also been confirmed for later in 2025, marking the first Black edition by Genesis that will be available Down Under.
