Recently, tempers have flared once again for Draymond Green.
The Golden State Warriors star compiled another moment of heated altercation in his books last week when he and Zach Edey got tangled up.
The sequence occurred at the beginning of the fourth quarter during the Memphis Grizzlies’ offensive possession. As Jake LaRavia missed a two-point jumper, Edey grabbed an offensive board. But behind him was Green who wrapped him out and pulled away.
Triggered by the sequence, Edey retaliated as he broke loose against the Warriors veteran. The two instantly sparked an immediate entry of both Golden State and Memphis staffers to halt any further escalation that may occur.
Above the law?
Upon the review made, officials decided to slap Green with a flagrant foul — a decision that is deemed bewildering considering that there’s no highly intense action that took place.
As such, Green didn’t hold back ripping the referees for how he was assessed. In the postgame of the Warriors’ eventual victory, the 34-year-old ranted over the treatment he constantly receives, as he also obtained a peculiar technical call a few minutes later after going after Edey.

Questionable bias
In the latest episode of his Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis, Green revealed that a referee has shown a favorable nod towards Edey.
“I got an interesting one for you. I got word that came back to me that came from a reporter, that Zach Edey was told by a referee, ‘Hey, don’t let him get in your head,’” Green confessed.
“Now that’s insane. ‘Don’t let him get in your head?’ Bro. You might as well put a polo on and go sit on that bench. These are the things that’s going on in the NBA today. And then I, in that same game, I get a tech for saying, boom, on the three.”
Green won’t easily escape notoriety considering his controversial occurrences from the past. Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that there’s certainly something that has to be discussed about the officials’ subjectivity and unfair treatments.
As questions and uproars continue to swirl about referees and the way they officiate the game, the NBA needs to take further action and address this issue.
