“Kobe’s for everyone” is a little bit closer to being a reality. Though demand won’t wane a bit for premium drops like the Kobe 6 “All Star 2.0” or Kobe 9 “Masterpiece,” Nike is aiming at bringing the beloved basketball shoes back to the court with a reported Kobe 9 EM Team Bank collection hitting shelves in Fall 2025.
Pay attention to the “EM” subtitle in this upcoming collection’s name, eschewing the premium Flyknit construction we were reintroduced to with the Kobe 9 “Halo.” Though initial reporting leaned towards that Elite build, confirmation of a $180 MSRP functionally rules that out — the “Engineered Mesh” material fitting far better with that more accessible price point. Importantly, the EM was also the choice when Nike launched a similar program back during the model’s original release. As one of Nike Basketball’s newest and foremost formulations at the time, nearly two dozen of those simplistic looks hit the market.
The 2025 effort will be a bit more reserved in reach, limited to just five offerings of ” “Wolf Grey,” “Game Royal,” “University Red,” “Black/University Gold,” and “White/Court Purple,” the latter two presenting a Lakers Home and Away split. Note that most all of these palettes return from the Kobe 8 Team Bank initiative, with the one minor divergence being that “Game Royal” takes the place of “College Navy.”
