It’s been two years since Subaru unveiled the latest generation Crosstrek SUV, but we’ve been wondering when a hybrid version would arrive. Subaru has announced that the Crosstrek Hybrid will arrive at the end of this year as a 2026 model.
The last Crosstrek Hybrid was a plug-in hybrid, but it wasn’t great with only 148 horsepower and 17 miles of EV range. This time the Crosstrek Hybrid gets a much improved hybrid system, but it’s not a plug-in hybrid.
The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter boxer engine and an electric motor generator and electric traction motor to give it a total of 194 horsepower. The hybrid system uses a 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. As expected the Crosstrek Hybrid comes standard with all-wheel drive.

When it arrives this fall, the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid will debut with two exclusive colors: Sand Dune Pearl and Citron Yellow Pearl.
