SKINCARE | Dr. Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm #LunarJanuary

I need a cleansing balm like I need another “neutral palette”, but for some reason I was immediately taken in by the Dr. Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm. Though I do not believe Dr. Althea is the first to do this type of mechanism, I liked the brand’s sheet masks and the fact that I could purchase this through my favourite Korean online beauty store Bellbees. 

 
Most of us are familiar with what a cleansing balm is (essentially a solid version of a cleansing oil), but the “grinding” mechanism allows for a more hygienic way of accessing your precious cleansing balm so that instead of using your hands, you turn the top part of the container and “grind off” what you need in perfectly controlled portions!

Where I have some questions are: “How will I get to the rest of remaining cleansing balm when I am close to the end?” and “Can I rip this plastic apart?” because one thing I don’t like about hygienic packaging like this is that because everything is completely hidden from view, I never know how much is really left. 

Final verdict: I do like the actual product INSIDE this grinding mechanism as it is one of the nicest textures I have experienced. It does not burn my eyes and does a great job a removing all makeup. I am not sure if I would buy this again though mainly because of how much room cleansing balms take up on my counter in general (though if I had LESS stuff, I might be more OK with it) and the fact that the grinding mechanism feels a bit gimmicky and I would have preferred this product in just a jar that I could scoop out.
