One former Miami Heat star has no respect for the way Jimmy Butler has conducted himself during this recent stretch.
Jimmy Butler has made himself one of the most polarizing figures in the NBA once again. His current situation with the Miami Heat has been the talk of the NBA world.
The Heat recently suspended Butler for his behavior in a scathing statement. Brian Windhorst was shocked that the Heat backed down from Butler.
Butler does have his supporters. Stephen A. Smith criticized Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra for the way they handled the situation. Even DeMarcus Cousins has called out the Heat for their actions.
But at the same time, there have been many who don’t appreciate the way Butler has gone about things. And one former Heat star let his feelings be known on the matter.
Tim Hardaway Sr. calls out Jimmy Butler
Tim Hardaway Sr. was a guest on Draymond Green’s podcast. He called out Jimmy Butler for how he has handled his exit.
Speaking first to admonish the Heat, he began: “You let that stuff get out of hand. Jimmy Butler, he deserves his money, everybody deserves they money.”
He then turned his attention to Butler: “You can’t play 60 per cent of the games, and [then] I’m in the play-in game, and then we got to work just as hard to get to [it]. I need to not be in the play-in game.
“If he played 73 games, they the fourth seed, they got a week off, they rested. But now they in the play-in game. Enough was enough.
“Pat [Riley] is in the driver’s seat. We don’t have to trade you, you still under contract. You shot a one-legged shot in the corner. When have you ever seen Jimmy Butler shoot a one-legged shot in the corner?”
“Once Jimmy said to Pat, said to his face, he wants to get traded, I think it’s over. He told him in his face what he wants.
“But Pat don’t want Bradley Beal, so he gonna have to find something that benefits him and the Miami Heat. You let your teammates down man, they want you, they need you.”
Hardaway Sr. is a player who really enjoyed his time with the Heat. He has spoken numerous times about his admiration for the famed ‘Heat Culture’.

Where will Butler end up?
With the trade deadline just a week away, the big question on everyone’s mind is – where will Jimmy Butler end up?
Butler wants to go to the Phoenix Suns, but the presence of Bradley Beal complicates that deal. Beal turned down a move to the Chicago Bulls, who wanted to help facilitate a deal for the Suns.
Former NBA Champion Danny Green pegged Jimmy Butler to the Memphis Grizzlies as an ideal move. Even Kendrick Perkins named the Grizzlies at the top of Butler’s wish list.
At this point, it is extremely difficult to try and pick where Butler will end up. But with the Heat looking to make a deal soon, this saga should not last long.
