Jimmy Butler’s unique ability could make the Phoenix Suns a ‘very scary’ team if he gets traded.
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has certainly made the organization bend over backward with his recent trade demand.
Despite getting slammed with suspensions left and right, Butler has stayed firm on his desire to leave Miami by the NBA Trade Deadline.
The Phoenix Suns are touted as Butler’s preferred destination as the 35-year-old has expressed no interest in playing for other trade suitors.
Former NBA player on why Jimmy Butler to the Phoenix Suns will be a scary move
Michael Jordan’s former teammate Randy Brown recently spoke about a scenario where Jimmy joins the Suns.
Brown praised Butler’s unique ability and explained why he would be a perfect player for the organization. However, for some odd reason, Brown sees Butler joining the Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.
Considering Butler’s salary, it would be impossible for the Suns to afford their current Big 3 and add the Heat star to it.
“Jimmy going to the Phoenix Suns is very scary. You can put him alongside anybody because he plays the right way. He plays both ends of the floor and he practices hard,” Brown said in an interview with RotoGrinders.
He added: “So, to put him with Booker, Durant, and Beal would make the Suns a really dynamic team.
They’ve got three really good stars right now in Booker, Durant, and Beal but it’s surprising that they’ve got off to a slow start.”
The Suns are currently the ninth seed in the Western Conference and hold a 24-22 record. They need a breath of fresh air to save their season, and Brown thinks Butler can be just that for the franchise.

Brown on why the Suns have struggled
On paper, the Suns have one of the best-starting fives in the entire league. However, if there is one thing that can derail a team’s season, it’s injuries.
Brown spoke about how injuries have impacted the Suns’ season and although Butler is 35 years old, he is somewhat immune to fitness troubles.
“I’m pretty sure they don’t want to look for excuses, but injuries have derailed them. They lost Beal early, lost Durant, lost Booker for some time. It’s surprising that they got off to a slow start, but because they are so talented they will get back,” Brown continued.
“To add Butler, he’s 35 years old, but he’s still in great shape and he’s a great competitor. They’re talked about in championship conversations and if you add Jimmy to that roster, for sure there’s a chance,” he concluded.
Considering the Suns are still two games above the .500 mark, they are a good winning streak away from getting back in playoff contention.
Could Butler be the final piece to the puzzle for the Suns? Only time will tell.
