Official Trailer for Romance ‘Float’ with Andrea Bang & Robbie Amell
"Can we just stay in the moment?" Lionsgate has unveiled a trailer for a romantic drama titled Float, made in Canada by filmmaker Sherren Lee. This cheesy love story is based on the book of the same name written by Kate Marchant. It's one of these "everything changed when I met this one guy" stories we've seen so many times over and over. A city girl with a life in Toronto, originally from Taiwan, rejected by her parents, makes an impulsive decision to spend the summer at a small town with her estranged aunt. She nearly drowns and is rescued by the lifeguard next door, who offers to teach her how to swim. Of course they fall in love, but will things work out? Float stars Andrea Bang as Waverly, Robbie Amell as lifeguard Blake, Michelle Krusiec, Andrew Bachelor, Rukiya Bernard, and Sarah Desjardins. This looks sweet and sappy and pretty generic with this Hallmark Channel-esque story of lovers who have to decide what they will do next.

In 1985, 46 music icons, including Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper, Diana Ross, and Stevie Wonder, came together for the most star-studded recording session in history. This is the untold story of the legendary global pop song "We Are the World" (listen here) recorded to help bring more support to African famine relief — which very nearly didn't happen. Many of the artists who were there that legendary evening -- Richie, Springsteen, Lauper, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Loggins, Dionne Warwick, and Huey Lewis -- reminisce alongside musicians, engineers, and production crew about one of the most storied nights in music history. Looks like a fascinating & amusing ...
Watch: Lubezki’s Short ‘The Knowing’ – Shot on Sony’s New Camera
"Planet Earth is a masterpiece. But it's also incredibly fragile. We have ignored it, neglected, and abused it for centuries. It's on the verge of collapse. How much longer can we last...?" Sadly an important question. Sony Cine has revealed a new 3-minute short film called The Knowing, filmed by the legendary Mexican cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (aka "Chivo" Lubezki). It's a promo for the latest Sony pro digital cinema camera called the Burano, as well as a conservationist short film, following two photographers to the deep South-Western region of Australia. There they encounter the endangered Southern Right Whale in its natural habitat. It's a gorgeous short that looks great but is also meant to remind us we still need to do more to save this planet and take care of it and let it heal properly. To help tell this story, the filmmakers used the Sony BURANO, a digital cinema camera that combines the quality of their flagship Venice camera with the size & flexibility of a smaller camera – perfect for wildlife filmmakers or small crews. Lubezki approved. 🎥
