New Trailer for ‘The Woman in the Wall’ Thriller Starring Ruth Wilson

"I think my daughter is alive... I have to find her." Showtime has unveiled a new official US trailer for the crime thriller mystery series titled The Woman in the Wall, originally made by BBC in the UK. This is now set for a streaming debuting later this month in the US on Paramount+, after debuting in the UK last fall. Not to be confused with The Woman in the Window or Woman in the House Across the Street..., this is about a woman who finds a dead body in her home. Lorna Brady wakes one morning to find a corpse in her house with no idea who the woman is. She doubts herself, because she has long suffered from extreme bouts of sleepwalking due to trauma in her youth. Unluckily for Lorna, Detective Colman Akande is now also on her tail, for a crime seemingly unrelated to the body she has discovered in her house. Together, they explore secrets from their past to uncover this mystery. Ruth Wilson stars as Lorna, and Daryl McCormack (from Good Luck to You, ...

Quick Trailer for Scott Adkins’ Airport Action Sequel ‘One More Shot’

"You can't stop this. It's too big." Sony Pictures has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller sequel titled One More Shot, which will be out direct-to-video (and on VOD) in a few weeks. This action-packed high-octane thriller continues right where One Shot left off - it's a sequel to that one-long-take movie, using that same real time action gimmick all over again. Following the attack on the black site in Poland, Navy SEAL Jake Harris is ordered to escort terrorist suspect Amin Mansur to Washington D.C for interrogation. As they're chased through the airport terminal by ruthless terrorists, Harris will have to use all his battle-honed skills to survive. Scott Adkins returns to star as Harris; he's joined by Michael Jai White, Tom Berenger, Meena Rayann, and Alexis Knapp. This trailer doesn't confirm if it actually is one-long-take again, but the countdown time seems to indicate they're aiming for the "real time" editing trick again. The rest of it looks so cheesy and generic, the same boring action you've seen in 100 other movies before already. Here's the official ...

Extra Stylish Barbaric Fantasy Sci-Fi ‘She Is Conann’ Official US Trailer

"Six lives. Six incarnations." Altered Innocence has revealed the US trailer for a wild & crazy experimental French film called She Is Conann, a unique re-imagining of the classic Conan the Barbarian myth through a modern gender-swapped lens. Yes, you read that right! This premireed at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival last year in Directors' Fortnight, with stops at Fantastic Fest and Sitges. It'll be opening in February in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Denver, and more, with director Bertrand Mandico and the star at opening weekend showings at Anthology Film Archives in NYC. Conan's life at different stages is shown with a different aesthetic and rhythm from the classic Sumerian era to the near future. The film is a barbaric fantasy sci-fi trip that boldly celebrates the influences of Fellini Satyricon, The Night Porter, The Hunger, and Fassbinder’s entire oeuvre to craft a moving portrait of a warrior trying to find her place while existing outside of space, time, and meaning. Wow. Described as an "intoxicatingly lush 35mm-shot hero's journey." This stars Claire Duburcq, Christa Théret, Sandra ...

Another New US Trailer for ‘The Peasants’ Hand-Painted Polish Film

"God did not create you to be poor!" Sony Classics has revealed an official US trailer for the hand-painted film The Peasants, an animated story of jealous men and angry villagers. They have been working on this for years, painting every single frame by hand to get it looking perfect. The film tells a heartbreaking story about an early 20th Polish peasant woman who creates havoc when she is forced to marry an older rich man. The epic classic novel of Wladyslaw Reymont has been brought to life using the popular realist and pre-impressionist paintings from the 19th Century, with an emphasis on the Young Poland Movement and the works of such artists as Józef Chełmoński, Ferdynand Ruszczyc and Julian Fałat. It's a follow-up to the first hand-painted film Loving Vincent, which was about Vincent Van Gogh. Every last shot is painted by artists, resulting in thousands of paintings at the end of production. The Peasants stars Kamila Urzedowska as Jagna, with Robert Gulaczyk & Mirosław Baka. It first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last fall, and I recently ...

Joe Keery & Camila Morrone in Criminal Romance ‘Marmalade’ Trailer

"It's me and you against the whole wide world." Brainstorm Media along with Signature Ent. have revealed an official trailer for an indie thriller titled Marmalade, marking the feature directorial debut of actor Keir O'Donnell. It's set for a small theatrical + VOD launch in early February coming up in just a few weeks. The "edge-of-the-seat crime-tinged romance tale" film follows a man in prison who narrates the colorful tale of a romantic bank heist to his cunning cellmate, in order to plot an escape and reunite with the alluring love of his life. His cellmate Otis is a man with a well-versed history of prison breaks, and two try to help reunite Baron with her. Joe Keery stars as Baron, with Aldis Hodge as Otis, and Camila Morrone as Keery's lover Marmalade. This was filmed in & around Minnesota, including in Stillwater. This just makes me want to watch The Shawshank Redemption all over again. Looks like a fun but instantly forgettable crime movie. New US Teaser for ‘Robot Dreams’ Animated Film About NYC Friends

Neon has unveiled their version of the short teaser trailer for the animated film Robot Dreams, which first premiered at the 2023 Cannes & Annecy Film Festivals last year. This film is one of our favorite animated films of 2023, a delightful little tale of friendship and connection in New York City. It's on the shortlist for the Oscars, and might just end up with a nomination for Best Animated Film. Robot Dreams is the first animation film by the award-winning director Pablo Berger (Blancanieves). A story about friendship, its importance, and its fragility. The dialogue-free animated film is based on the popular graphic novel by Sara Varon, about the adventures and misfortunes of Dog and Robot in NYC during the '80s. Dog is lonely so he orders a Robot companion, but then Robot gets stuck in the sand at the beach one day. I wrote a glowing review of this out of Cannes, and Neon picked up the film for US release. There's still no final release date set yet for the US debut - but we hope to ...

Joey Collins in Psychological Thriller Film ‘There is a Monster’ Trailer

"This thing is after me." Gravitas has debuted a trailer for an indie psycholigcal thriller called There is a Monster, set for VOD release later this month. It's the feature debut of a filmmaker named Mike Taylor, who wrote and produced as well. This hasn't played at any film festivals and is getting dumped in January. Here's the pitch: a man is haunted and hunted by a monster that only he can see. If this sounds familiar, it's because this kind of idea has been made plenty of times before, in so many better ways. The monster hovers over him as he sleeps, and it starts to affect him physically. More attacks occur and he blames the monster for his troubles. But his wife and best friend wonder if maybe he's losing his mind. There is a Monster stars Joey Collins, Ena O'Rourke, Jesse Milliner, Marcellus Shepard, Kelly Schwartz, MerryRose Howley, Bill Thomas, Steve Teller, & Tim Nicholson. Sorry to say but - this looks like complete trash. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Mike Taylor's There is a Monster, ...

Full Trailer for ‘Lisa Frankenstein’ with Kathryn Newton & Cole Sprouse

"She's slaying, He's decaying." Arriving in theaters for Valentine's Day. Focus Features has unveiled their main official trailer for a dark horror comedy titled Lisa Frankenstein. The first teaser from last October was pretty good, this full trailer is even better with more jokes. This is from a new script written by Diablo Cody, directed by the newcomer Zelda Williams. Set in 1989, an unpopular high school girl named Lisa accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams by using the broken tanning bed in her garage. Yet another spunky new take on Frankenstein, after Birth/Rebirth and The Angry Black Girl & Her Monster last year. Kathryn Newton co-stars as Lisa, with Cole Sprouse as her monster, plus Carla Gugino, Liza Soberano, Joe Chrest, and Henry Eikenberry. This looks like wicked, twisted fun! I really dig the neon colors and vintage vibe. "Here's the fact: even your sister will steal your man!" FX has unveiled the main trailer for their winter series called Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans, bringing the story of Truman Capote and his "Swans" to the screen ("The Original Housewives"). This is the second season of the original Feud anthology series from 2017, created by Ryan Murphy. Capote Vs. The Swans is an 8-episode mini-series based on the bestselling book Capote's Women by Laurence Leamer. Acclaimed writer Truman Capote betrays his relationships with members of New York high society by writing thinly-veiled accounts of their personal lives. This betrayal effectively destroyed those relationships, banished him from high society and sent him into a spiral of self-destruction from which he would ultimately never recover. Tom Hollander stars as Capote, with Naomi Watts as Babe Paley, Diane Lane as Slim Keith, Chloë Sevigny as C.Z. Guest, Calista Flockhart as Lee Radziwill, Demi Moore as Ann Woodward, Molly Ringwald as Joanne Carson, plus Treat Williams, Joe Mantello, Russell Tovey, Jessica Lange, and Peter Scanavino.
