Eddie Murphy Returns as Axel in ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ First Look
"So how many people have you pissed off so far?" He's back again! Netflix has unveiled the first look teaser trailer for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the long-awaited new sequel in the Beverly Hills Cop series – which ended years ago in 1994 with Beverly Hills Cop III directed by John Landis. This smashing new follow-up picks up right where things left off with Axel Foley as he returns to his old stomping grounds in SoCal. When his daughter is threatened, he is drawn back to the many opulent environs of Beverly Hills to investigate the untimely demise of a long-time confidant. Eddie Murphy is back as Foley for the fourth time, after first taking on the role in the 1984 comedy classic that was directed by Martin Brest. The new cast also includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot, and Kevin Bacon. This sequel is arriving next year - almost a full 40 years after the original hit theaters. Have to say - it looks way better than expected! Might turn out to ...
Lucy Hale & Nat Wolff’s RomCom ‘Which Brings Me To You’ Trailer
"You run out on every guy you've ever been with!" Decal Releasing has unveiled the trailer for a romantic comedy called Which Brings Me To You, arriving in theaters in January 2024 next month. It's from the same filmmaker who previously made the romcoms Then Came You and The Hating Game, and this one will probably be just like those two. Lucy Hale and Nat Wolff star in this hilarious tale of love and disaster. Two romantic burnouts meet at a wedding and almost hook up in the coatroom before putting the brakes on. They agree to exchange candid confessions about their pasts on the off chance that this might be the real thing. "Trading candid confessions of messy histories and heartbreak" - revisiting their own "past lives" on screen. The film's supporting cast includes John Gallagher Jr., Ward Horton, Genevieve Angelson, Alexander Hodge, Britne Oldford, Marceline Hugot, and Laura Kai Chen. This looks super cheesy, as expected of course, but there's also a nice chemistry between these two that might make it a good watch.

Spicy Thriller ‘Miller’s Girl’ Trailer with Martin Freeman & Jenna Ortega
"You are my student. And I am your teacher. That's all..." Lionsgate has unveiled the trailer for Miller's Girl, which is set to open in January after a premiere at the 2024 Palm Springs Film Festival that month. It's a romantic entanglement between teacher and student psychological thriller from a screenwriter making her directorial debut. The short synopsis: A creative writing assignment yields complex results between a teacher and his talented student. "As lines blur & lives intertwine, professor and protégé must confront their darkest selves while straining to preserve their individual sense of purpose and the things they hold most dear." Oh boy, this sounds spicy. Jenna Ortega stars with Martin Freeman as the professor, plus a cast including Dagmara Domińczyk, Bashir Salahuddin, Gideon Adlon, & Christine Adams. This looks so cliche and obvious, I bet everyone knows exactly what's going to happen without even having to watch it.

"A masterclass on how to make historical horror fiction, as well as survivor horror, and all of these pieces come together to create something that feels both timeless and alien." Is it a dragon? Or some dinosaur? Or ...

"Revenge should have no bounds." Kaleidoscope Ent. in the UK has revealed an official trailer for a filmed version of Hamlet, which will be playing in UK cinemas next February for one night. A tale of revenge that has stood the test of time, Shakespeare's classic tragedy is reimagined for the modern day as a gripping psychological thriller. Chilling First Trailer for Alex Garland’s ‘Civil War’ Sci-Fi Action Thriller
"What kind of American are you?" Here we go! A24 has unveiled the first official trailer for Alex Garland's Civil War, his next highly anticipated action thriller movie arriving in theaters April 2024. This is the fourth film he has directed, following Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Men. The plot has been kept a secret for the entire production, with little details revealed now - mainly that it's about a civil war in a near-future America. But this is from the sci-fi master Alex Garland, so there must be more implications and ideas here than just - this is what modern civil war will look like. The excellent ensemble cast for Garland's Civil War film features Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonica T. Gibbs, and Jess Matney. This looks much more harrowing and intense than expected, way more of an actual depiction of what civil war would be like rather than anything with a message. Which is strange. Why do we need this right now? What's it for? Will it bring us together...?

Kelsey Grammer in Dolph Lundgren’s Action Film ‘Wanted Man’ Trailer
"If you wanna fight with the wolves, you gotta be a wolf." Sure, why not, that kind of makes sense? Quiver Distribution has revealed an official trailer for Wanted Man, the latest action thriller film directed by the legendary Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren. This isn't his first time directing - he's made a few other action films over the last 20 years, most of which have already been forgotten. This new film follows a police officer who must retrieve an eyewitness from Mexico and escort her across the border after a cartel shooting leaves several DEA agents dead, then he must decide who to trust when they discover that the attack was executed by American forces. Lundgren also stars as Detective Johansen, with a cast including Kelsey Grammer, Michael Paré, Christina Villa, Roger Cross, and Bourke Floyd. Not sure why exactly Lundgren feels like he needs to tell this story in this way, but this seems like such a bland idea that won't amount to much.

"I pray that people don't panic." HBO has unveiled an official trailer for a documentary called Time Bomb Y2K, which HBO will be debuting just in time for this year's New Years right at the end of 2023. 🍾 An immersive, all-archival retelling of the "Y2K" millennium bug and mass hysteria that changed the fabric of modern society. With access to tons of rare archival material, including home video & never-before-seen outtakes, the film features first-hand accounts from computer experts, survivalists, scholars, militia groups, conservative Christians, and pop icons grappling with a world that could descend into chaos. Having lauded the transformative power of computers and the internet, President Clinton invests billions of dollars and appoints a "Y2K Czar" in 1998 to tackle the problem. Yet, despite the government's best efforts, hysteria still leads many to buy guns, stock up on supplies, cancel travel plans, and even move off the grid entirely. The looming deadline prompts a deep evaluation of our relationship to computer technologies. I guess it is time someone finally retold this crazy story! Looking back 24 years ...
