Not only did they reveal a trailer for Legendary's epic Godzilla x Kong sequel, the Japanese movie Godzilla: Minus One is playing in theaters worldwide (go see it - this movie rules!!). And Apple TV+ is also streaming their exciting new Monarch: Legacy of Monsters series online for everyone to enjoy. There's no better time to be a Godzilla fan than right now!! Based on Legendary's Monsterverse, the 10-episode series follows two siblings find themselves revisiting the past — from present day to 1950s San Francisco in the wake of Godzilla and the Titans' destructive battle — to uncover the truth behind the secret "Monarch" organization and the many emerging monsters. "Witness the rise of a new empire." "This world has more secrets then we could possibly imagine." Warner Bros and Legendary have unveiled the first official trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, once again directed by filmmaker Adam Wingard. Another exciting preview from the CCXP comics expo in Brazil. It's a sequel to 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong, which opened during the pandemic but was still one of WB's big hits that year. This next one is set to open in theaters everywhere starting in April 2024. The plot for this next one involves the two mega monsters Godzilla and King Kong having to team up to take on a "colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world" - which seems to be some kind of massive chimpanzee. GxK also delves further into the histories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while spending more time exploring the Hollow Earth realm where Kong is from. Berlin's best film festival is underway once again. They've got the best films you'll watch all year, venues in great locations in the city, and affordable tickets. The 14 Films Around the World Festival has kicked off in Germany's capitol city. The selection this year features 23 of the year's best festival films from, ahem, around the world, screening in Berlin for everyone to enjoy - this fest meant for the public, for anyone to come and discover great cinema. Tickets are only 11€ each (more info here), playing at two big and warm and cozy movie theaters, with a few Q&As and other special events during the next week. Much like the other epic sci-fi series Foundation on Apple TV+, it looks like they're kicking things up quite a few notches for Season 2, going even bigger and better compared to the first season that arrived in early 2022. "I do not think you would be willing to do what it takes to survive up here." Prime Video has launched the first official trailer for Fallout, a live-action streaming series coming out in 2024 based on the immensely popular, beloved video game series of the same name. Bethesda Softworks now owns the video game series and most recently published the sequels Fallout 4 in 2015, and Fallout 76 in 2018. This series is essentially the big follow-up to HBO's "Westworld", as it was developed by and is being written / showrun by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the two minds behind the "Westworld" series as well. In a future, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants, and bandits after nuclear annihilation. "I don't want to see Tokyo in flames again!" Japan's Toho has revealed one final official trailer (#4 in total) for Godzilla Minus One (or Godzilla -1.0) to celebrate the official release worldwide TODAY in theaters. Go see it! Word on the street is it's one of the best movies of the year, not even just one of the best Godzilla movies, a must watch on the big screen. Twenty years ago, the extraordinary Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King opened in theaters, completing the original LOTR saga. Created by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, this epic trilogy is in my humble opinion one of the greatest trilogies ever in cinema history. In celebration of this 20th anniversary, the props & weapons & practical FX house Weta Workshop has posted a video on their YouTube. This "20 years of Middle-earth" video is a "behind-the-scenes at Wētā Workshop" look at their Lord of the Rings days. "In order to share our joy with fans worldwide, please enjoy this collection of fond memories from our days spent sketching, sculpting, exploring, painting, crafting, creating, and, most importantly, dreaming within the vast world of Middle-earth." "They have a very cinematic approach to anime. They don't want to anything that is generic or cliched, and that's how I feel about my art as well." Netflix's new anime series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is already available to watch streaming. For one final promotion, Netflix has unveiled a 10 minute behind-the-scenes video taking us to Japan where the animation studio Science SARU is located. Based on the comic books by Canadian creator Bryan Lee O'Malley, the anime is inspired by Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs the World movie but is directly pulled from the comics themselves. They explain this video that the voice cast recorded first, then they animated the series with the voices already in place - the opposite of what usually happens in Japan. This anime series is also quite diverse - it's showrun by Canadian Bryan Lee O'Malley and American BenDavid Grabinski, directed by Spanish animation director Abel Gongora, and animated by the Japanese studio Science SARU (known for Inu-Oh, SW: Visions, The Heike Story, Yurei Deco, Devilman Crybaby). "Europe is a tough place. And only the strongest of you will make it there." Voltage Pictures has unveiled an official trailer for a Belgian horror thriller survival film called The Hunted, made by French filmmaker Louis Lagayette. This seems to be a promo trailer to attract buyers more than for audiences, since there's no release dates set. After their boat capsizes in the Mediterranean Sea, a group of refugees are rescued by rich Europeans who offer them shelter on an idyllic island. But the miracle soon becomes a nightmare when the saviours turn into ruthless manhunters. So this is a campy modern twist on "The Most Dangerous Game" story, involving refugees who get turned into the prey when they're taken to a private island. Scary! Starring Lily Banda, Alec Newman, Mylène Jampanoï, Raj Bajaj, Vassilis Koukalani, Aurora Marion, & Daphne Alexander.
