Juliette Binoche is a Master Chef in ‘The Taste of Things’ US Trailer
"I read a recipe and she worked magic on the stove." IFC Films has debuted the official US trailer for the highly acclaimed food film called The Taste of Things, originally titled La Passion de Dodin Bouffant ("The Passion of Dodin Bouffant") in French or The Pot au Feu, which is one of the key dishes discussed in the film. It premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival to rave reviews, including my own, proclaiming it as one of the best food films ever made. Juliette Binoche stars as Eugénie, an outstanding cook, who has worked for the famous gastronome Dodin Bouffant (as played by Benoît Magimel) for 20 years. However, Eugénie, eager for her own freedom, has never wanted to marry Dodin. So Dodin decides to do something he's never done before: cook for her. Oh it's so incredible. The cast includes Bonnie Chagneau Ravoire, Galatéa Bellugi, and Sarah Adler. I adore this film! J'taime! This isn't the best trailer, there's only one shot of the food, but that doesn't matter. It's lovely anyway! And I'll be raving about ...
New US Trailer for Acclaimed ‘Shayda’ Film with Zahra Amir Ebrahimi
"I am not afraid." Sony Pictures Classics has debuted a new US trailer for the outstanding film Shayda, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Noora Niasari. It first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, winning the Audience Award in the World Cinema Dramatic section. I saw it at Sundance and it's fantastic - one of the best feature debuts of this year. A young Iranian mother named Shayda and her six-year-old daughter find refuge in an Australian women's shelter during the two weeks of the Iranian New Year. When the girl's father shows up, it takes all of her courage to fight back and stop him from taking over. The extremely talented Zahra Amir Ebrahimi (also from last year's Holy Spider) stars, with Osamah Sami, Leah Purcell, Jillian Nguyen, Mojean Aria, Selina Zahednia, Rina Mousavi. Australia has submitted Shayda as their entry for the Academy Awards this year - a great pick. Even if it's the same trailer as the one from before, happy to bring attention to this terrific film that deserves to be seen.

Jason Statham in David Ayer’s Action Thriller ‘The Beekeeper’ Trailer
"We have laws for these things!" "Until they fail, then you have me..." MGM Studios has also revealed the first official trailer for The Beekeeper, an action thriller movie from filmmaker David Ayer (of Street Kings, End of Watch, Fury, Suicide Squad, Bright, The Tax Collector). They're saving this until January, right after the New Year, which is always a sign it's not going to be good. The story of a man seeking vengeance against scammers whose mission becomes more complicated as the stakes become national when he is revealed to be a former operative of an organization known as "The Beekeepers." It's also "steeped in the mythology" of beekeeping, which this trailer opens with. 🐝 Jason Statham stars with Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, plus Phylicia Rashad and Jeremy Irons. This looks ridiculous. So extremely cheesy & dumb, but it's also satisfying to watch him take out all the scammer bros.
Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for David Ayer's The Beekeeper, direct from MGM's YouTube:

Behind-the-Scenes Teaser for George Clooney’s ‘The Boys in the Boat’
"Give it everything!!" MGM Studios has revealed a first look behind-the-scenes featurette for The Boys in the Boat, directed by George Clooney. This is one of the only other big movies still set to open in 2023 that hasn't had a trailer yet - this is only a preview, with the trailer still to be unveiled. MGM is sticking with the Christmas Day opening at the end of the year. "The stakes were much higher for them... and it gave them an edge. That you can pull yourself up from nothing and succeed." A 1930s-set story about the University of Washington's rowing team, from their Depression-era beginnings to winning gold rowing at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. It's adapted from the bestselling book of the same name. Starring Joel Edgerton and Callum Turner, with Jack Mulhern, Sam Strike, Peter Guinness, Alec Newman, Luke Slattery, Thomas Elms, Tom Varey, Bruce Herbelin-Earle. Clooney last directed The Tender Bar and The Midnight Sky before this. Maybe his sports movie will be a bigger hit? Has that underdog story success written all over it.

"He's not a one hit wonder. He's the real deal." That's what they all say! Netflix has unveiled the full trailer for the series Neon set in music scene in Miami. From exec producer Daddy Yankee, with original songs produced by Tainy, Neon is a new series about three friends' quest to find fame in the world of reggaeton. Or at least play one paying gig. While this isn't the first film or TV show with reggaeton, definitely one of the first to focus specifically on this scene and this music. Three friends move from a small town in Florida with the hope of making it big. This stars Tyler Dean Flores as Santi, Emma Ferreira as Ness, Jordan Mendoza as Felix, Courtney Taylor as Mia, along with Michelle Cortés, Jessie Camacho, Ana Sofia Pomales, and Cecille Colón. The eight-episode comedy captures not only the three besties' larger-than-life dreams, but also the harsh realities & funny mishaps of surviving the music industry. Out for streaming in October.
