Emma Roberts stars as Tiffany "Rex" Simpson, who has always dreamed of going to space, and with a "doctored" application she gets into NASA’s ultra-competitive astronaut training program. In over her head, can this Florida girl get through training and into the cosmos before she blows her cover? Written & directed by Liz W. Garcia, Space Cadet is a comedy about the power of being yourself, following your dreams and shooting for the stars. This film is even directed by one of the key animators on many Ghibli features, including Porco Rosso and Spirited Away, who has been working at Ponoc ever since Mary and the Witch's Flower. Apple TV has revealed the official trailer for an action comedy called The Instigators, another amusing buddy movie about two guys who end up on the run around a city, much like Jon Watts' film Wolfs - out later this year. Set in Boston, The Instigators follows two robbers who must go on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a theft doesn't go as planned. Matt Damon and Casey Affleck co-star in this crime comedy as Rory and Cobby: a desperate father and an ex-con thrown together to rob a corrupt politician's ill-gained earnings. But when the heist goes wrong, the two find themselves engulfed in chaos, pursued not only by police but also by backward bureaucrats & vengeful crime bosses. Variety & THR are both reporting that Sony Pictures has officially confirmed and finalized a deal to buy the famous Alamo Drafthouse cinema chain. Aside from Netflix investing in the Paris Theater in NYC & Egyptian Theatre in LA, this is the first time a major Hollywood studio has owned a movie theater company in decades. This is also major in cinema history because for decades there was something called the Paramount Decree, a Supreme Court ruling from 1948 that no movie studios could actually own movie theaters. This decision was historically rescinded in 2020, and everyone has been waiting to see if Hollywood might finally get back to buying up some theater chains. Hollywood is evolving again. There are currently 35 Alamo Drafthouse locations around the United States, including in New York City and Colorado and Los Angeles and San Francisco. Netflix has revealed a very short teaser trailer first look at the new animated series called Twilight of the Gods, the next Zack Snyder creation for the streaming network. He has been developing this in tandem with the Rebel Moon movies, another animated offering much like with his previous Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole movie (2010). The series is inspired by Norse Mythology. The Twilight of the Gods refers events that led to the destruction of Midgard and Asgard, then the death of most of the Æsir and Vanir gods in an ultimate battle against evil, the forces of nature and the Giants. "The ladies here are quite special..." Rialto has revealed an official international trailer for a French comedy titled Mr. Blake at Your Service! in English. The other French title is Complètement Cramé (which means Completely Burnt Out) that was also translated to Well Done! at first, until they went with the more playful Mr. Blake title. John Malkovich stars in this as Mr. Andrew Blake, a widowed British businessman who takes the job as a butler of a manor house in France to feel closer to the memories of his late French wife. His life takes a turn as he navigates the eccentric behavior of the three ladies of the manor and the staff. It is based on the novel of the same name (Complètement Cramé), with the writer of the novel taking a shot at directing his very first feature film. Me follows a 12-year-old kid named Ben who is in the throes of middle school as he adjusts to a newly blended family AND the realization that he has super powers.
