Official Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Tires’ Comedy Series Starring Shane Gillis
"When's the last time you sold anything?" Netlfix has unveiled the first look trailer for a new comedy series titled Tires, the latest comedy concept featuring the comedian Shane Gillis in the lead role (as "Shane"). This was initially revealed as part of Netflix's annual "Netflix is a Joke Fest" comedy event, which is why the trailer is launching now to go along with the launch there. Will, the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, attempts to turn his father’s business around despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane (Gillis). A new sit-com with a bunch of tire shop workers. The series is co-created by Gillis, Steven Gerben, and McKeever - all three credited as writers & exec producers. Tires also stars Gerben, Chris O'Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias, with guest appearances by Andrew Schulz. There's a few funny moments in here, but can they sustain this humor for the entire series and beyond? Check it out.

IFC Films has unveiled another trailer for the acclaimed slasher horror In a Violent Nature, arriving in theaters this May (see the other full trailer). It first premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to rave reviews praising it as something new. The gimmick for this one is that it's all from the perspective of the killer - following him as he goes around slashing. This iconic new film tracks an undead, ravenous zombie creature as it makes its way through the woods. Starring Ry Barrett, Andrea Pavlovic, Cameron Love, Reece Presley, Liam Leone, Charlotte Creaghan, Lea Rose Sebastianis, & Sam Roulston. IFC is really putting their marketing might behind this film! Watch: Lucasfilm’s ‘Challenging The Impossible’ Filmmaking Featurette
"At ILM, we look for work that scares us. We look for work that we haven't done before. It is a challenge to constantly pull that off – but it's also what drives us." Lucasfilm has debuted a wonderful new video titled "Challenging The Impossible", a 3-min featurette looking at all the work that goes in behind-the-scenes to make all of their movies, series, games, and more. "At Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic, and Skywalker Sound, we challenge the impossible every day." They highlight these three companies, and the many people involved in designing, creating, crafting, and completing the ideas that the visionaries dream up. "What's it like to challenge the impossible every day? It's thrilling." This is a nice tribute to the magic of storytellers and craftspeople, always inspiring to see. There's a series of 3 videos from Lucasfilm which first debuted a few years ago - they've been updated and re-released with new footage. This grand, historical fresco depicts the true story of a young Jewish child who, in mid-19th century Bologna, was abducted from his family by the church on the Pope's orders. The child had been secretly baptized by his nurse as a baby, and the papal law is unquestionable: he must now receive a Catholic education. Edgardo's parents, distraught, will do anything to get their son back. Supported by public opinion and the international Jewish community, the Mortaras' struggle quickly takes on a political dimension, all against the backdrop of the riveting true events that shook the world. Starring Enea Sala, Leonardo Maltese, Paolo Pierobon, Fausto Russo ...

Told from three different perspectives of regular people involved in his imprisonment and execution. Entirely shot on 16mm film, this "vividly textured work brings to life the varied experiences of these characters, emphasizing that the same historical events are often perceived differently by people... Talia Ryder Goes to a Punishing Ballet School in ‘The American’ Trailer
"What will you do for the role? How much of your life are you willing to give?" Vertical has revealed the official US trailer for an indie thriller tilted The American, which originally premiered last year under the title Joika instead. Not to be confused with the George Clooney movie also called The American (can they even name it the same?). Based on a true story, The American follows one of the select few Americans, Joy Womack, to be admitted to the prestigious, but punishing, Russian Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow, where she is tutored by the vaunted Tatiyana Volkova. She dreams of becoming a truly extraordianry ballerina, but at what cost? "Finding unlikely support from Volkova, she risks her health, relationships and potentially her life in her journey to determine what it means to be great." Starring Talia Ryder as Joy, Diane Kruger as Volkova, Oleg Ivenko, and Natasha Alderslade. Haven't heard much about this, despite playing at a few festivals last year. It looks super crazy mega intense! Whiplash but for ballet, or so it seems from this ...

June Squibb is Now an Action Hero in Hilarious ‘Thelma’ Movie Trailer
"We all have our good days and our bad days?" "And what's today?" "We'll find out." Magnolia Pics has launched their full official trailer the Sundance 2024 hit film Thelma, from writer / director Josh Margolin. It didn't win any awards, but it did win over the hearts of many Sundance viewers as one of the best of the fest (I wrote a glowing review). Inspired by a real-life experience of Margolin's own grandmother, Thelma puts a clever spin on movies like Mission: Impossible, shining the spotlight on an elderly grandmother as an unlikely action hero. Yes, she kicks some serious ass. With infectious humor, Margolin employs the familiar tropes of the action genre in hilarious, age-appropriate ways to tackle aging with agency. In the first leading film role of her 70-year career, June Squibb plays Thelma with grit and determination, demonstrating that she is more than capable of taking care of business. In addition to Squibb kicking butt as Thelma, this also stars Fred Hechinger, Parker Posey, Clark Gregg, Malcolm McDowell, along with the late Richard Roundtree (RIP) as ...

The eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell reaches epic proportions when both God and the Devil are sent to Earth - in the bodies of chunky house cats. The original game's premise: "Bring the catnip. Draw as many cards as you can, and do your best to dodge — or defuse — fatal felines. Or else, boom goes the dynamite!" The series pits good vs. evil - but with cats. With the voices of Tom Ellis as God Cat, with David Gborie, Lucy Liu, Mark Proksch, Ally Maki, Sasheer Zamata, and Abraham Lim. I'm glad this isn't animation for kids, because all of the brutal, rude, ...
Who’s Buying Up All Our Food & Water? ‘The Grab’ Doc Official Trailer
"Food is a very obvious & central way to wield power." Magnolia Pictures has unveiled an official trailer for The Grab, a fascinating documentary film from Blackflish filmmaker Gabriela Cowperthwaite. This is one of these films that "they" (the government, powerful people, etc) don't want you to see. They don't want you to know what's really going, who is doing it, what is quietly happening. An investigative journalist uncovers the money, influence, and alarming rationale behind covert efforts to control the most vital resource on the planet – food. The Grab is a global thriller about hard-hitting journalism from the Center for Investigative Reporting combined with compelling character-driven storytelling from director Gabriela Cowperthwaite, taking you around the globe to reveal one of the world’s biggest and least known threats. It's a look at who (and why) powerful nations are taking over control of food and water worldwide. It's scary and eye-opening and alarming. The film first premiered in 2022 at the Toronto Film Festival but has taken a few years to get properly released. I saw this back then and ...
