Official Trailer for Unsettling Folk Horror Indie Film ‘Silence of the Prey’
"To the Harvest!" The Horror Collective has revealed the trailer for an indie horror titled Silence of the Prey, an unsettling feature about a cannibalistic cult. This is set to launch on VOD this May after playing a few festivals. In a desperate bid to secure a future for her child, an undocumented immigrant mother takes a caretaker job. Unbeknownst to her, the elderly man conceals a horrifying truth... Producers Monte Bezell & Den Tolmor explain: "Our film encapsulates the harrowing vanishing of thousands, shrouding the boundary between the enigmatic and the inconceivable. The film stars Monte Bezell, Michael Doyle, Lorianna Izrailova, Karyna Kudzina, Chris LaPanta, Rebecca Packer. Looks gross and frightening! For die-hard horror fans only.

Watch: Wes Anderson Directed This Funny Commercial for Montblanc
"in the morning, by the way, we'll all three ski back down to base camp after breakfast." What a surprise! There's another new Wes Anderson short film now out online for everyone to enjoy. It turns out Anderson has directed a funny 3-minute short film commercial for the uber fancy German pen company Montblanc. They just debuted it online and it's absolutely worth a quick watch. You have to see what Wes cooked up for them! He even appears in this one! The short is celebrating 100 years of the pen called the Meisterstück, that was first introduced by the company in 1924. Which actually is quite remarkable! "An ode to individual style and mastery." The film stars Rupert Friend, Jason Schwartzman, and Wes Anderson as three Montblanc fans (or perhaps aficionados?) who take refuge in a mountain cabin near the real Mont Blanc to discuss their love for and appreciation of Montblanc pens. As lovely as they are, they're definitely out of my price range. Even if this is all just obvious advertising, it's still amusing seeing these three ...

Official Trailer for ‘Copa 71’ Doc – About the 1971 Women’s World Cup
"It was important for women to see that this was possible." Greenwich Entertainment has debuted a trailer for a sports history documentary film titled Copa 71, arriving to watch in June. It first premiered at TIFF 2023 last year, with stops at the London, Philadelphia, AFI Fest, and Göteborg Film Festivals. Told by the pioneering women who participated, this is the extraordinary story of the 1971 Women's Soccer World Cup, a tournament witnessed by record crowds that has been written out of sporting history – until now. This is the entirely true story of the 1971 Women’s World Cup, which was held in Mexico City and witnessed by more than 100,000 fans. This landmark tournament was dismissed by FIFA, of course, which should be no surprise to anyone familiar with this sordid sports organization. The doc film features interviews with various players who participated in the World Cup in 1971 and many others. Executive produced by Venus & Serena Williams. This looks awesome! Glad this once forgotten story is finally being told with proper pizazz.

It's an entrancing, hypnotic short about the creative process inspired, of course, by Frederic's own challenges with creativity. "I worked on [this film for] the last two years more or less in complete secrecy during the pandemic. I started with experimenting on new, weird styles and ended up with a weird 5-minute, experimental short." No other intro is needed, just click play on the video, turn up the volume, enter full screen – and enjoy. Frederic also works with a Swiss animation design studio called Team Tumult and they've made some awesome shorts in the past (highly recommend The Lonely Orbit). This new one is a solo short but still as mesmerizing as ever. Dive in below.
