Sterling K. Brown’s Assassination Thriller Series ‘Paradise’ Full Trailer

"You're about to be entrusted with top secret national security information... do you wish to proceed?" Yes. Hulu has unveiled the second official trailer for Paradise, a mysterious new thriller series arriving to watch starting at the end of this month. Nothing is as it seems in this series full of secrets and lies. Paradise is set in a serene, wealthy community inhabited by the world's most prominent individuals. This tranquility explodes when a shocking murder of the President occurs and a high stakes investigation unfolds. Sterling K. Brown stars as Xavier Collins, head of White House Secret Service, who's quickly investigated for the death of the President, whom he discovers next to his bed. But there's much more going on here... The series also stars James Marsden as the President, plus Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV. I am totally sold on this series now! Wow! What a trailer - setting up the stakes and the intrigue and the mystery. Who killed the President? What are the secrets? How will Xavier save the country? I also really dig the cinematography and repeat imagery that keeps appearing. Here's the second official trailer (+ […]

Pixar’s ‘Win or Lose’ Softball Team Anthology Series on D+ Full Trailer

"No matter what happens, you are all winners!" Get ready to play ball! ⚾ Pixar has debuted the full official trailer for their new streaming series called Win or Lose, which has been in development for years. This original animation creation made by Pixar Animation Studios is finally streaming on Disney+ starting this February - delayed from its original December date. The new series follows the intertwined stories of eight different characters as they each prepare for their big championship softball game. Their team is known as the Pickles. 🥒 The fascinating Inside Out-inspired series reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of each of the unique characters—the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire—with incredibly funny, very emotional and uniquely animated perspectives. Will Forte voices their coach. The cast also includes Izaac Wang (from Didi!), Ian Chen, Jo Firestone, Milan, & Josh Thomson. It's still infuriating that they removed a trans storyline from the series - it really should be in here. But the rest of it looks fantastic anyway! All these personal stories seem so honest and I'm excited to see every episode. Here's the main official trailer (+ posters) for Pixar's […]

Full Trailer for Time Loop Horror ‘Until Dawn’ with Many Freaky Kills

"How many more deaths do you have in you?" "Nobody's made it past 13 nights..." Sony has debuted the first official trailer for the freaky new horror movie Until Dawn, which is based on the Playstation video game of the same name. This time loop killer horror movie is set for release in April this spring. It's directed by filmmaker David F. Sandberg, who is getting back into horror after making the two Shazam! movies and the horror movies Lights Out & Annabelle: Creation previously. A group of friends finds themselves stalked by a masked killer & horrifically murdered one by one in a lodge... only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in this remote valley, they're forced to relive the nightmare again & again - only each time the killer threat is different (a different horror genre each time). "Same night, different nightmare." Starring Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A'zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and Peter Stormare. This is looking pretty rad - a nice set of different kills, and some weird creatures and a giant monster, and much more going on. How will they ever survive until […]

A24 has unveiled one more official trailer for the monumental The Brutalist, the third feature from acclaimed filmmaker / actor Brady Corbet. After already opening in theaters last year, it's getting a full IMAX run this weekend for anyone who needs to see it. Shot on film and projected on film (in 35mm & 70mm). I'm one of many who have already been calling this a masterpiece, describing it in my review as a film "we will be celebrating for decades to come." Intense Action Comedy Set on Haiti – ‘Kidnapping Inc.’ Official Trailer

"I'll pay twice the amount to anyone who can help us find my son." 🇭🇹! Dark Star Pictures has revealed the official trailer for Kidnapping Inc., a Haitian kidnapping action thriller set on & filmed on the Caribbean island. This first premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival last year in the Midnight section, although reviews were mostly mixed on it (currently at 62% on RT). Doc and Zoe are two hapless kidnappers tasked with what appears to be a simple abduction for hire, only to find out that it's anything but and end up in the middle of a political conspiracy. A kinetic, vibrant action film described as "a frantic, frenzied black comedy ride that never lets up and doesn’t leave hostages on the crossroad between Pulp Fiction and City of God." The film, which tackles the kidnapping crisis in Haiti, had multiple crew members get kidnapped during the film's production. This stars Jasmuel Andri, Rolapthon Mercure, Anabel Lopez, Ashley Laraque, and Gessica Geneu. It's a fun one, totally crazy and bonkers. But I'll admit I didn't love it - a bit too wild. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Bruno Mourral's film Kidnapping Inc., direct from YouTube: […]

After premiering at the 2024 Cinequest Film Festival, it's being released on VOD in February for anyone who wants to watch. Sam arrives in Tokyo only to have his trip unexpectedly cut short when his expat girlfriend breaks up with him. The indie film stars Reza Emamiyeh as Sam and Tokiko Kitagawa as Ayaka, with Cailee Oliver, Shinichiro Watanabe, and Mika Ahn. This looks really sweet and charming. Apparently including a sleepover? Ha. Starring Mindy Sterling, Niamh O'Neill Culhane, Jared Lo Nigro, and Rachel Rambaldi. Directed by Bri Klaproth, written by Jon Walkup and Bri Klaproth. I'm always happy to support short films and as a big fan of their last one, this one is already on my radar at Sundance this year. Keep an eye out for it there.
