Official Trailer for British Indie Film ‘Silver Haze’ Starring Vicky Knight
"Everyone makes mistakes... Let go of that ball of anger that's holding you back..." The title is also the name of a famous marijuana strain, which some of you might recognize. Franky works a nurse and lives in an East London borough. Obsessed with revenge and a need to assign guilt for a traumatic arson event that occurred in her past, she is unable to build meaningful relationships - until she meets her own patient Florence. Together they escape to the coast where Florence lives, and Franky just might be able to find the emotional shelter to deal with the grudges of her past. Starring Vicky Knight as Franky and Esme Creed-Miles as Florence, with Charlotte Knight and Archie Brigden. Full US Trailer for French Film ‘The Animal Kingdom’ About Mutants
"They're living beings, like us!" Magnolia Pictures has unveiled the first official US trailer for an impressive French fairy tale thriller titled The Animal Kingdom, from filmmaker Thomas Cailley. This premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival last year, and it also played at the Karlovy Vary, Vancouver, Sitges Film Fests and Fantastic Fest. Now set to arrive in the US this March. The film is an adventure between a father and his son, in a world where some humans have started mutating into other animal species. It is a mutant movie unlike any ever seen before, with hyper-realistic effects and prosthetics for all the creature characters. Plus a heartfelt story about a father and son trying to figure out how to navigate this strange, new society they've found themselves existing within. The Animal Kingdom stars Romain Duris, Paul Kircher, and Adèle Exarchopoulos. I wrote a strong review from Cannes, saying that I am "captivated by its individuality as a film." Germain Lussier at io9 also loved it, calling it "a fantastic movie, a magical movie." It's worth a watch.

Teaser Trailer for ‘Late Night with the Devil’ TV Broadcast Horror Film
"Tune in, freak out." IFC Films has uneveiled the first short teaser trailer for acclaimed indie horror thriller Late Night with the Devil, made by the Australian filmmakers Cameron & Colin Cairnes. This originally premiered at last year's SXSW Film Festival, playing at tons of other festivals around the world last year. A live television broadcast back in 1977 goes horribly wrong, unleashing evil into the nation's living rooms. Presented in a found footage style. Set in the 1970s, the film follows charismatic late-night host Jack Delroy (portrayed by the great iconoclast David Dastmalchian), who, in an effort to boost the ratings of his once hugely popular "Night Owls", has invited an eerie tableau of guests for his Hail Mary of an occult-focused Halloween broadcast. IFC has this film set to open in March, so keep an eye out for it soon. Dastmalchian stars as the host, joined by Laura Gordon, Ingrid Torelli, Ian Bliss, Fayssal Bazzi, and Rhys Auteri. All the early buzz is that this film is fantastic, another unique new horror cinema concept to enjoy in ...
Red Band Trailer for ‘Land of Bad’ Action Thriller with Russell Crowe
"Our priority is protecting the men and women who serve this country!" The Avenue has debuted another red band official trailer for Land of Bad, landing in theaters nationwide in one week. It's the latest movie from talented filmmaker Will Eubank, of The Signal, Underwater, and Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin. "When sh*t goes down in the jungle, there's one team for the job." When a Delta Force team is ambushed in enemy territory, a rookie officer played by the other brother Liam Hemsworth refuses to abandon them. Their only hope lies with an Air Force drone pilot as the eyes in the sky during a brutal 48-hour battle for survival in the jungle. Russell Crowe co-stars as the drone pilot, with a cast including Luke Hemsworth, Ricky Whittle, Milo Ventimiglia, Daniel MacPherson, Gunner Wright, and Lincoln Lewis. This actually looks like it has some kick ass action scenes in it, or so it seems. Ranging from some hand-to-hand combat, fights in enclosed spaces, military battles, and a drone raining down hell fire from the sky. Rock on.

Final Trailer for Kate Winslet’s ‘The Regime’ Autocrat Satire Max Series
"Anyone who dares insult me or my country shall feel my fury!" HBO Max has revealed the final official trailer for The Regime, arriving for streaming in March. Damn does this look wicked! The Regime is a new political thriller dark comedy series created by Will Tracy, now known as the writer of The Menu screenplay, working with British filmmaker Stephen Frears. The series stars Kate Winslet as the dictator of a fictional Middle European autocracy, following along as her regime begins to crumble and her power begins to wane. A twisted (and scarily quite real) story about how insane all these power hungry, autocrat politicians always are. The supporting cast includes Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, Martha Plimpton, Guillaume Gallienne, Hugh Grant, and Danny Webb. This looks crazy! It's just barely at the border of crossing over into absurd territory and becoming a Mike Myers comedy, especially with bathtub TV scene. The rest of it looks so impressively crafted, from the scale and scope to all of the performances. Take a look.

Riley’s Hockey Emotions Examined in ‘Inside Out 2’ Teaser Trailer #2
"Orange? Who made the console orange?" Uh oh, anxiety is coming to town, ready to mess everything up. Pixar has unveiled a second teaser trailer for the sequel Inside Out 2, which will open in theaters in June this summer. The first look teaser dropped in November last year, introducing us to where this sequel is headed - with more "emotions" crowding in Riley's mind. "Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she's not really the type to take a back seat. That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds." The full Inside Out 2 voice cast also includes Amy Poehler returning as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust. This teaser is all about teenage Riley playing hockey - and they still haven't even revealed the other new characters yet. Looking good so far! Got a feeling this one might turn out as wonderful as the first film.

Spooky Trailer for ‘American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murders’ Doc
"We knew who was involved. No one was ever brought to justice." Netflix has revealed a trailer for another new true crime, mysterious doc series - this one titled American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murders. However, this doc series looks like it's something much more intriguing than most - from the filmmaking team who brought you Wild Wild Country (which is one of the best series). From Stardust Frames, Duplass Brothers Productions, and director Zachary Treitz - this four part docuseries untangles a mystery decades in the making. The series takes a closer look at a shadowy organization called "The Octopus", a secret group with ties to stolen government spy software and some of the biggest political scandals of the 20th century. The odd thing about this is that James Bond's great nemesis Ernst Blofeld runs SPECTRE, the villainous organization also uses an octopus for its symbol. This is a fictional group, but perhaps there might be a real one out there, too? The trailer gives me the willies - a very unsettling tease at what's hiding in the shadows...
