Revlon Royal Amethyst ColorStay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick ($10.99 for 0.17 oz.) is a deep, purpled-burgundy with strong, cool undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It could have applied a lot more evenly! Opaque pigmentation Very fluid, spreadable, creamy Hard to apply evenly, settled into lip lines Set to a lightly-to-moderately tacky feel, no lifting Transfer-resistant until eating Very long-wearing (8.5 hours of wear but doesn't make it through two meals well)

Guerlain Glittery Tiger Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

Guerlain Glittery Tiger Ombres G Quad Eyeshadow Palette ($85.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that included three more shimmery shades paired with a deeper, semi-matte finish shade. I felt like two of the three shimmers were not quite as impressive as most of the recent Guerlain quads have been, though they were still good! The matte had to be built up, but it was easy to do so and easy to blend. Glittery Tiger #1 is a medium-dark, emerald green with moderate, warm undertones and a smooth, pearly finish. Opaque pigmentation in one layer Slightly Continue Reading…

Chanel Lumiere Graphique Palette Review & Swatches

Chanel Lumiere Graphique Eyeshadow Palette ($88.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that featured five shimmery shades ranging from golden pewter to sparkling white. The quality was more mid-range for me; a little powdery and drier in texture, though certainly better when applied with a dampened brush or over a tacky base. Lumiere Graphique #1 is a light-medium, golden pewter with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. Semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation Soft, lightly powdery, not prone to fallout Applied evenly and blended out well Long-wearing (8 hours before fading) Lumiere Graphique #2 is a dark, Continue Reading…

Tom Ford Lumiere D’Hiver Eye Color Quad Review & Swatches

Tom Ford Beauty Lumiere D'hiver Eye Color Quad ($90.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, limited edition offering for the holiday season that featured two matte eyeshadows and two shimmery eyeshadows. I did not feel that any of the eyeshadows performed that well; for the price point, obviously a massive miss! Lumiere d'Hiver #1 is a very pale beige with neutral-to-warm undertones that almost went cool-toned against my particular complexion. Medium, somewhat buildable coverage Lightly powdery, somewhat thin; best paired with a primer Tended to sheer out when blended Short-wearing (6.5 hours) Lumiere d'Hiver #2 is a light-medium brown with Continue Reading…

Chanel Duo Lumiere Highlighter Review & Swatches

Chanel Duo Lumiere Illuminating Powder Duo ($70.00 for 0.26 oz.) includes a peachy champagne and a lighter, champagne gold that combine to create a soft, golden peach with flecks of gold sparkle throughout. It had more of a translucent base, so it will definitely take on the depth and tone of one's natural coloring more than some highlighters. It did have a more "glittery" finish, which I know some love and others steer clear of. Semi-sheer to medium, buildable pigmentation Smooth, finely-milled, lightly emollient; no powderiness Applied evenly and blended out well Long-wearing (8.5 hours before fading)

ColourPop Cloud 9 Palette Swatches

ColourPop Cloud 9 Palette is a new, smoky/gray color story in a 12-pan format. The quality was as expected for ColourPop, though I'd say the shimmers felt a bit firmer and were more emollient while being on the thinner side, which is not my favorite texture from the brand as I find it doesn't work as well with brushes. Here are swatches!
