One More ‘Cinematic Masterpiece’ Trailer for ‘Blue Eye Samurai’ Series

Netflix has unveiled one more official trailer for the kick ass animated series Blue Eye Samurai, co-created by Amber Noizumi & Michael Green (writer of Logan & Blade Runner 2049). We've featured a few trailers already. It's described as a "for adults only" series from "tragic to poetic to barbaric and occasionally erotic." Set in 1633 Japan during the Edo period, the epic animation series stars Maya Erskine as Mizu, a hardened fighter. She knows there are only four white men in Japan and sets off to kill them, one of whom might be her father, who made her a "monster." But revenge is not an option for women, so Mizu must forge her revenge quest while hiding her gender as well as her blue eyes. Makoto Shinkai’s Anime Hit ‘Suzume’ Returns to US Theaters Today

Suzume and Souta and Daijin are back in theaters again!! Crunchyroll has announced that Makoto Shinkai's beloved anime film Suzume is now playing again in theaters in the US. The film originally opened in April 2023 earlier this year, after first opening in Japan in late 2022 almost one year ago. Suzume already earned an impressive $10 million at the US box office during its initial opening in the spring earlier this year. It is also celebrated as one of the most successful modern animated films in Japan, becoming the fourth highest-grossing film of 2022 in Japan in only two months. Peccadillo Pictures has debuted a second official trailer for the indie film Punch from New Zealand, a boxing drama made by filmmaker Welby Ings. This premiered at a few festivals last year, and already opened on VOD in March earlier in the year – this is an extra UK trailer for its release this fall. Jordan Oosterhof stars as Jim, a young boxer preparing for his first professional fight. He begins to rethink his life and his sexuality after tangling with Whetu, a gay Maori boy who spends his days in an old shack down by the beach that he built entirely himself. The two are forced to navigate isolation, homophobia, and the brutality of small-town life. As Jim discovers what it means to be gay, he realizes how little strength is connected to heroism.
