Netflix has debuted the full official trailer for an enlivening new stand up comedy documentary called Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution, directed by acclaimed filmmaker / producer Page Hurwitz. This will be premiering at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival this month in their Spotlight section, before arriving on Netflix right after. The compelling feature-length documentary explores the history of LGBTQ+ stand up comedy, examining & defining its vital importance as an instrument for social change over the past five decades. Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution combines interviews, memorable stand up performances, archival materials, and verité footage featuring top LGBTQ+ comics including Lily Tomlin, Sandra Bernhard, Wanda Sykes, Eddie Izzard, Hannah Gadsby, Tig Notaro, Rosie O'Donnell, Margaret Cho, Bob The Drag Queen, and Trixie Mattel, with others.
