‘Bridgerton’ Star Plays Victim, Says Pro-Palestian Views Could Cost Her Work

Kevin Sorbo no longer works in mainstream Hollywood because he’s a Christian conservative. Antonio Sabato, Jr. has a similar story.  Other right-leaning stars keep their mouths shut for fear of professional blowback. The Hollywood Blacklist 2.0 is real and it’s oh, so ugly. And the examples go on and on and on … Tell that …

Russell Crowe is Possessed in Meta Horror Film ‘The Exorcism’ Trailer

"Can he be saved?" Vertical has revealed the official trailer for a horror thriller film titled The Exorcism, starring Russell Crowe - though it's not related to his other exorcism film The Pope's Exorcist from last year. This was originally titled The Georgetown Project, but they gave it this new title that will confuse people into thinking it's related to the classic The Exorcist. Though it sort of is. This film is made by Joshua John Miller, son of actor Jason Miller, who played the doomed Father Karras in the original Exorcist film. It's inspired by his experiences growing up knowing his dad played that role. A troubled actor begins to unravel while shooting a horror film. His estranged daughter wonders if he's slipping back into his past addictions or if there's something more sinister at play. Also starring Ryan Simpkins, Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg, Samantha Mathis, & David Hyde Pierce. This is a pretty cool meta concept, a film-within-a-film horror about an actor being possessed. This trailer has some seriously scary moments... Here's the official trailer (+ two ...

Quarterback Jared Goff in Fun Featurette for ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’

"The biggest lesson I learned from Axel – is to ignore the critics" Netflix has debuted an awkward comedy featurette to promote the upcoming release of the highly anticipated, long awaited sequel Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. This sequel picks up where things left off with Axel Foley (from the last movie in 1994) returning to the beat in California. When his daughter is threatened, he is drawn back to Beverly Hills to investigate the untimely demise of a long-time confidant. Eddie Murphy returns to star as Axel Foley (aka Axel F) for the fourth time. The new cast includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Bronson Pinchot, Paul Reiser, and Kevin Bacon. Football and Axel? Why not. It's obvious what they're doing (crossover marketing) but is any of this video ...

Watch: Tech Makes People Dance in ‘Synthetic Pleasures’ Short Film

"Imagine, we are all living inside of a cave. Unable to life our heads. To see. To feel, anything. Now watch, as we are set free." Is it technology setting us free, or are we freeing ourselves from technology? Nowadays the latter seems more important. This experimental short film titled Synthetic Pleasures is the creation of filmmaker Stuart Langfield. It was originally made as the main title film for OFFF Barcelona 2024 held earlier in April - OFFF is "global platform for the creative industry that sets the trends in design, art & post-digital culture." The short offers a different take on "the robot uprising, imagining a world in which our digital assistants like Siri and Alexa leave the confines of their devices and take some human bodies for a joyride, just to feel something, to be human for a minute." The result of this joyride is a selection of people dancing & moving in weird ways, which is fun for a minute until the little colorful bubbles head off to watch the sunset. This is a bit too abstract ...
