Official Trailer for Horror ‘Are You There?’ – A Game of 20 Questions
"Do not attempt the Are You There? challenge!" It's a bad idea - you might end up dead! Dark Sky Films has unveiled an official trailer for indie horror thriller titled Are You There?, directed by indie filmmaker Kim Noonan. It's getting a small release and will be available on VOD to watch this February if anyone is curious. Paranormal psychology student Rosa Gonzalez lights a ritual candle used to contact the dead... When she then asks, "Are You There?" she opens a door to a demonic game of 20 questions. After lighting summoning candle, it ignites a life and death game of questions to answer. As the candle melts down, so does her chance of survival. She discovers some questions are best left unanswered... Starring Laura Sollet as Rosa, plus Eva Meyerson, Madison Geiger, Mbeng Klovis, Chase Bridges, and Kay Galvin. This looks like an obvious direct-to-video genre release, but at least they tried creating a freaky game concept for this horror. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Kim Noonan's horror film Are You There?, direct from YouTube: Twin sisters Rose & Azalea and their friend Brooks find themselves trapped in a supernatural blackout in which monsters are […]

Battle of Mogadishu Doc Series ‘Surviving Black Hawk Down’ Trailer
"I was sure my family were dead." Netflix has unveiled a trailer for Surviving Black Hawk Down, a 3-episode docu series that will be streaming on Netflix starting in February. The doc is a "360-degree telling of the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, whose events served as inspiration for Ridley Scott's Academy Award winning film Black Hawk Down." It has been 24 years since Black Hawk Down opened in theaters (back in 2001) and yet somehow now is apparently the right time to revisit it. I mean, it is a great action movie, but this all seems strange. Surviving Black Hawk Down tells the gripping real story of the horror and heroism behind the events – blending raw, immersive doc storytelling with first-person interviews from both sides of The Battle of Mogadishu. Makers RSA add "[we] are thrilled to bring this compelling story to a new audience with Netflix, almost 25 years after Ridley’s iconic movie. It's a gripping tale, and powerful and moving to hear from both US forces and Somalis for the first time." I'm glad they're sharing stories of both sides now. Sterling K. Brown’s Assassination Thriller Series ‘Paradise’ Full Trailer
"You're about to be entrusted with top secret national security information... do you wish to proceed?" Yes. Hulu has unveiled the second official trailer for Paradise, a mysterious new thriller series arriving to watch starting at the end of this month. Nothing is as it seems in this series full of secrets and lies. Paradise is set in a serene, wealthy community inhabited by the world's most prominent individuals. This tranquility explodes when a shocking murder of the President occurs and a high stakes investigation unfolds. Sterling K. Brown stars as Xavier Collins, head of White House Secret Service, who's quickly investigated for the death of the President, whom he discovers next to his bed. But there's much more going on here... The series also stars James Marsden as the President, plus Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV. I am totally sold on this series now! Wow! What a trailer - setting up the stakes and the intrigue and the mystery. Who killed the President? What are the secrets? How will Xavier save the country? I also really dig the cinematography and repeat imagery that keeps appearing. Here's the second official trailer (+ […]
