"You're very good at making things awkward." Apple TV has revealed the main official trailer for a new series titled Palm Royale, created by TV producer / writer Abe Sylvia. It's set for streaming in March next month. Palm Royale stars Kristen Wiig as Maxine Simmons, a socialite on the climb in Palm Beach, and singer Ricky Martin as Robert. The comedy series chronicles a woman reconstructing her identity in the 1960s after being dismissed by her husband and her entire social circle. She works towards attaining a place in Palm Beach high society, in the process learning what she will and won't do to achieve this. "How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?" It's adapted from Juliet McDaniel's book "Mr. & Mrs. American Pie". Webcam is a short film co-written and directed by Spanish filmmaker Nick Delgado, aka Nicolás Delgado de la Cámara, who graduated from USC in LA after moving from Madrid. The short is about a man living alone in a post-apocalyptic future with his A.I. drone robot friend. After a devastating natural disaster, James Mann is the last man on Earth. Trapped in a bunker, his only companion is WebCam, a very loyal camera robot. James is broken, alone, and ready to give up... until WebCam receives a mysterious transmission that will change their world forever. This stars Drew van Acker as James, along with the model Dichen Lachman. It's an entertaining little apocalyptic story of survival, clearly inspired by Pixar's brilliant Wall-E, with a few clever touches. Apple TV has revealed the official trailer for a kooky British comedy series titled The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, which is actually based on a true story. Sort of. Noel Fielding is Dick Turpin, the most dangerous highway robber of the 18th century. The comedy series arrives for streaming starting on March 1st. It is a fictional take on the life of highway robber Dick Turpin – originally Richard Turpin, an English highwayman whose exploits were romanticised following his execution in York for horse theft. By the early 1730s, he had joined a gang of deer thieves and, later, became a poacher, burglar, horse thief and killer. This is his story. Though it's all made up, at least most of it is.
