Fest Trailer for Dag Johan Haugerud’s ‘Dreams’ Film in His Sex Trilogy
"Could this be something you'd publish?" Screen Daily has unveiled the first official trailer for Dreams, the third film in the trilogy of Sex, Love, Dreams films from Norwegian filmmaker Dag Johan Haugerud. Not to be confused with Akira Kurosawa's iconic classic Dreams, or the other 2025 film also titled Dreams directed by Mexican filmmaker Michel Franco. This intimate, sapphic story stars Ella Øverbye as the Norwegian young woman Johanne who documents her intense crush on her French teacher, named Johanna, falling in love for the first time. Her mother & grandmother end up reading these intimate writings. They're both worried by the contents at first but are taken by the powerful writing & story, hoping to get it published. Johanne navigates romantic ideals vs reality, exploring emotions of self-discovery, love, sexuality. Also stars Selome Emnetu, Ane Dahl Torp, and Anne Marit Jacobsen. This seems lovely and touching - worth a watch. Here's the festival promo trailer (+ poster) for Dag Johan Haugerud's […]

Late Shift will be premiering at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival in February before opening in German theaters late that month. German actress Leonie Benesch (seen in The Teacher's Lounge, September 5) stars as Floria, a dedicated nurse, tirelessly working in an understaffed surgical hospital ward. On this day her shift becomes a tense and urgent race against the clock. According to the WHO, the worldwide shortage of nursing staff is a global health risk. The film is both a respectful tribute to all care workers and a gripping plea for more humanity and social commitment. Last but not least, it shows how essential good care in the event of illness is for us all. Lead actress Leonie Benesch impresses with her powerful and captivating performance, which leaves the movie audience breathless and stays with us long after the film has ended. Even without subtitles yet, this is a riveting trailer […]
