It starts off with the presenter giving a brief introduction to both of these popular models.<\/p>\n<p>He then states the power figures and other specifications of both these vehicles. The Swift, he mentions, comes powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This motor makes around 89 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The presenter states that the Punch EV comes equipped with an electric drivetrain where an electric motor at the front axle powers the car. It produces a maximum power of 120 bhp and 190 Nm of torque.<\/p>\n<p>He adds that the car comes with a single-gear transmission and weighs in at 1360 kgs. Both cars get a driver and a front passenger. The presenter highlights that the Tata Punch EV has been put in sport mode and its air conditioner has been turned off. After this, the first round commences, and the Tata Punch EV and Swift both start neck to neck.<\/p>\n<p>However, soon after launching, the Punch EV overtakes the Swift and makes a huge gap. In the second and third round, the Swift manages to make a decent gap after executing a perfect launch. This time around, the Maruti Swift was able to get a good launch off the line and also increase the gap.<\/p>\n<p>This was because in city mode, the Punch EV\u2019s power and top speed get electronically limited. Lastly, both cars were then made to compete in a rolling race, and this time again, the Punch EV was able to leave the Swift behind.<\/p>\n<h2>Was this race fair?<\/h2>\n<p>In short, the answer is that this particular drag race event was not fair. This is because electric cars can easily outperform internal combustion engine vehicles with ease when it comes to acceleration.<\/p>\n<p>Electric cars are designed to put down all of their power at once.
