{"id":101188,"date":"2024-03-06T10:17:56","date_gmt":"2024-03-06T10:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/?p=1668635"},"modified":"2024-03-06T10:17:56","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T10:17:56","slug":"baywatch-reboot-release-window-cast-plot-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gamefootballmobileanimeiphone.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/06\/baywatch-reboot-release-window-cast-plot-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Baywatch\u2019 reboot release window, cast, plot, and more"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\" class=\"type:primaryImage\" src=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Baywatch-Cast-e1681545430800.jpg\"><\/div>\n<p>Some two decades after the original version aired, <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tag\/Baywatch\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Baywatch<\/a> <\/strong><\/em>is set to cause a splash on screens once more, with a reboot version of the iconic lifeguard series confirmed for <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tag\/Fox\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>For those who need a refresher, the original version of Baywatch ran for eleven seasons in the late &#8217;80s and &#8217;90s, becoming one of the most-watched shows in the world and making stars out of castmates <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tag\/Pamela-Anderson\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pamela Anderson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/celebrities\/what-happened-to-baywatch-star-yasmine-bleeth\/\">Yasmine Bleeth<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>News that an upcoming reboot of the show had landed a new home on Fox arrived on February 5, 2024, with showrunner Lara Olsen attached. Olsen\u2019s credits elsewhere include the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tag\/90210\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">90210<\/a><\/em> reboot and Netflix skating drama, <em>Spinning Out. <\/em>The <em>Baywatch <\/em>reboot will once again follow a group of Los Angeles county lifeguards as they deal with various emergencies and is said to have retained the same team of producers from the original. What else do we know about the <em>Baywatch <\/em>reboot?<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-release-window\">Release window<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Baywatch Remastered | Opening titles in HD\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O0nqwgu_Us4?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;%23038;origin=https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>There has not yet been any confirmation on when the TV reboot of <em>Baywatch <\/em>will be released, but we do know the production has already suffered a few delays. Rumblings that <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tv\/the-remake-that-stands-tall-as-the-worst-reviewed-movie-of-dwayne-johnsons-career-is-getting-remade-again\/\">a reboot was on the horizon<\/a> arose in April 2023, when it was reported that Fox had met with indie studio Fremantle \u2014 who own the rights to the original \u2014 to discuss a remake.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After strike-related delays, the reboot was officially launched into production for the 2023-2024 season, but shooting has not yet begun. In 2018, following the negative critical reception to the film remake of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/movies\/baywatch-review\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Baywatch<\/a> <\/em>starring <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tag\/Zac-Efron\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zac Efron<\/a>, Fremantle COO Bob McCourt said hope for a TV remake was slim. <\/p>\n<p>He said that while the film \u201cmight have given us reason to reboot,\u201d the lackluster critical response ultimately meant that \u201cdidn\u2019t happen right away.\u201d In any case, the reboot is currently in development, with some outlets suggesting a release window of late 2024 or sometime in 2025.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Cast<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Pamela Anderson&#039;s First Ever Scene On Baywatch Introducing CJ | Baywatch Remastered\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cuyfG18or1s?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;%23038;origin=https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Given that it\u2019s so early into the reboot\u2019s development, no official cast has been announced for <em>Baywatch. <\/em>Actress Nicole Eggert, who portrayed Summer Quinn in the original series, said she hasn\u2019t yet been contacted to appear in the reboot, but floated the idea of appearing in a minor role. Eggert also told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2024\/03\/05\/nicole-eggert-brande-roderick-baywatch-reboot-original-cast-open-role\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TMZ<\/a> <\/em>that she\u2019d like <a href=\"https:\/\/wegotthiscovered.com\/tag\/Margot-Robbie\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Margot Robbie<\/a> to appear in the reboot.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow former Brande Roderick, who starred as Leigh Dyer, also revealed she hadn\u2019t been contacted to appear in the reboot.
