The Blue Innovations Group R30 is almost ready to be shown off to the world, and the American-designed and built electric power boat will launch on December 16. However, deliveries of the boat have been delayed by a few months.<\/p>\n

The 30-foot (nine-meter), 800 hp (596 kW\/811 PS) boat was first shown off at CES<\/a>, and the company announced today that it will make its public debut in St. Petersburg, Florida. Blue Innovations Group also said that deliveries of the R30 will start in the third quarter of 2024, not the second, as was initially envisioned.<\/p>\n

If they’ve already seen enough, customers can reserve the R30 for $1,000. If they absolutely must be one of the first 100 customers to get the new boat,<\/a> buyers can also opt for a “BIG Reservation.” This costs $5,000, but will place them at the front of the line to receive their boat when deliveries start.<\/p>\n

“We are thrilled to launch the R30 in St. Petersburg, Florida, a community that has embraced our mission from the very beginning,” said John Vo, the company’s founder, CEO, and a former Tesla executive. “The R30 is a testament to American innovation and the cutting-edge technologies emerging from the State of Florida.”<\/p>\n

Equipped with two electric motors<\/a> that pump out a total of 800 hp (596 kW\/811 PS), the R30 features a 221 kWh battery pack that’s helped by a roof covered in solar panels. Blue Innovations Group predicts that the boat will be able to operate for up to eight hours, and reach speeds of up to 45 mph (72 km\/h).<\/p>\n

At 30 feet (nine meters) in length, the R30 can accommodate up to 12 people, and it comes with a kitchenette, as well as a “folding ocean terrace” that improves deck space when you’re hosting a party.<\/p>\n

“The R30 will provide the ultimate boating experience for customers with uncompromised safety, performance, style, and value while being environmentally friendly,” said Vo. “We’ve seen enthusiasm not only among current boaters but also among non-boaters who share the sentiment that the R30 is a long-overdue innovation.”<\/p>\n

An impressive vessel, it will have a pretty big price tag. Blue Innovations Group estimates that the R30 will have a purchase price of $300,000.<\/p>\n
