England<\/a> striker Harry<\/a> Kane proves once again that he’s no one-season wonder. In 2019, Waltham Forest Council commissioned a statue of the Three Lions’ all-time top scorer<\/a> in northeast London.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But the unflattering bronze sculpture, which cost $9,000 in public funds, is just seeing the light of day.\u00a0Big Issue<\/a>\u00a0magazine released previously unseen images on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The publication revealed that the statue had been in storage for four years because local officials couldn’t find a place to put their hometown hero.\u00a0Translation: They were afraid someone would bash it\u2014it doesn’t take much to twist a fan<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Images reveal the former Tottenham striker sitting down, holding a football on his left knee. It’s unclear if the Walthamstow-born player ever knew of its existence, saying he’s \u2018really excited’ now about finding it a home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But where will they put the goal-scoring machine, who now leads the Bundesliga with 31 strikes? Kane’s local pub, The Bell, issued a social media letter asking if the statue could be placed in the pub.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat could be better? Sipping a cold beer in the presence of footballing royalty. Let’s bring\u00a0Harry<\/a>\u00a0home\u2013well, to our pub at least,\u201d they wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n
