The last time we drove the Acura MDX<\/a>, we had so many great things to say about it, but there was one thing that we couldn’t get over – the infotainment system. We were clearly not the only ones that did not like dealing with a touchpad to operate the infotainment system, since it’s been replaced by a touchscreen in the 2025 MDX.<\/p>\n

\"2025<\/a><\/figure>\n

The 2025 Acura MDX has received a midlife facelift and while there are some other smaller updates, the most significant change is the vastly improved touchscreen. The MDX now comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay\u00a0and Android Auto\u00a0capability. The new screen looks similar to what you’ll find in the Honda Accord and that’s a good thing, since the system is easy to use and responsive.<\/p>\n

Since the old touchpad has been removed from the center console, there’s now easier access to the wireless charger and more storage space.<\/p>\n

The other big tech upgrade is the new Bang & Olufsen audio system. There are two available systems, with the 2025 MDX Type S with Advance Package featuring a 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.\u00a0The MDX with Technology Package, MDX with Advance Package, and MDX A-Spec models get a new 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.<\/p>\n

The updates to the exterior are minimal with a redesigned grille and front bumper cover to give the MDX a slightly more aggressive face. The MDX A-Spec now features the same face as the sportier MDX Type S. Lastly there are new wheel designs and two new available colors: Canyon River Blue Metallic and Urban Gray Pearl.<\/p>\n

\"2025<\/a><\/figure>\n

On the safety front the MDX Type S with Advance Package features a new AcuraWatch 360 system with new and improved hardware, including an updated\u00a0front long-range millimeter wave radar behind the Acura emblem,\u00a0an updated\u00a0front camera at the top of the windshield,\u00a0new\u00a0millimeter wave radars at all four corners,\u00a0and a new\u00a0steering wheel touch sensor. The new hardware enables new driver assistance features, including Active Lane Change Assist, Lane Change Collision Mitigation8<\/sup> and Front Cross Traffic Warning.<\/p>\n

The other trim levels get the AcuraWatch suite, which has been updated for improved performance, with expanded functions of a new front single-lens sensor camera with higher detection accuracy and new grille-mounted millimeter-wave radar. The updated hardware improves the collision avoidance performance. Lastly a new rear seatbelt reminder system has been added.<\/p>\n

Under the hood there aren’t any changes, which means the MDX comes standard with a 290 hp 3.5-liter V6 that’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The MDX Type S is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 355 hp and 354 pound-feet of torque, that’s also mated to a 10-speed automatic.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Acura MDX will arrive in May.<\/p>\n
