The Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Philly” officially releases on April 13th through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. The shoes are part of a “Mamba Day” trio dropping on the 13th that includes the Kobe 6 \u201cItalian Camo\u201d<\/a> and Kobe 8 \u201cVenice Beach\u201d<\/a> in honor of the eight-year anniversary of Kobe’s last game.<\/p>\n

Kobe Bryant obviously never played for Philadelphia, but his signature shoes have alluded to his hometown on several occasions. The Kobe 4 “Philly” first dropped in 2009 just months before the Lakers won the NBA championship, with the Mamba winning his first finals MVP that year. It’s one of the most sought-after Kobe’s on the market, with current resale prices approaching quadruple digits.<\/p>\n

The Protro follows the original with red, white, and blue makeup, evoking the Philadelphia 76ers and Kobe’s 2002 All-Star appearance in Philly, where he won MVP in front of friends and family.<\/p>\n
